Really? And on what basis do you make that claim, Bogarde?  Islamophobia?   Roll Eyes

Sydney is divided up into areas with majority ethnicities. Fairfield/Cabramatta is Vietnamese, Lakemba is Muslim and Penrith is  anglo . Let has our own culture hey? There's plenty of places in Sydney for a Muslim influx.

Yes, Homo, there's always my multicultural ghetto. We take in all types in Granville. Chows, Curries, Pakis, Nig nogs...

But I'm curious. On what basis do you think the Penrith Council will reject this school? Please refer to LGAs' planning and development criteria in your response. This includes car parking, fire planning, water and sewerage, any building impacts on neighbouring properties, etc, etc, etc.

Please explain.
On what basis? Well princess , the council owns the land and the buildings and they can rent them out to whoever they want. Good enough?

Come come, dear: the council owns the land and the buildings? This is a Development Application on private land.

Now let's start again. On what planning criteria are you suggesting the council should reject this application?

I'm curious.

No dear. They want to move into the old Penrith Public School buildings.

And you're suggesting this is owned by the Penrith Council? DET-owned sites are private land, dear, as every schoolboy knows.

How about the majority of residents not wanting it?

Ah yes, let's consider this, but allow me to pose a question to you first. Do you own your home or rent?

Is that a serious question?

Well you look it up and enlighten me. I don't care who owns it. All I want is no stinking Islam School on the main drag of Penrith. That's what will stop it, traffic issues. That was one of the reasons they moved the old school.

I like the way you talk about the council owning the land. Roll Eyes.......but just who do the council work for.. just who pays their wages....thats right rate payers..

there has to be a better way of dealing with something like this....if there is a lacking of schools in that community I would say fair enough....but at the end of the day....private schools all need propping up..for the govt to add another private school to its list.. then the public system ends up paying for it..

where do these children already go to school?????.....

if you want your child to have dancing classes or rock and roll lessons then they have them after school... so why not religious teaching as well.....

after all I know for a fact non Catholics can go to a Catholic school... would non Muslims children be welcome at an Islamic school??.... would they be allowed if they were   to celebrate CHristian special days.. like Easter??......I wonder!

What I'm wondering is why they want to open another Muslim school in Penrith. Hardly any Muslims live there. There's no need for it.

Do I hear the familiar cry for religious freedom?

Ironic as it is, a secular state is the only moderately believable guarantee of religious freedom. Such a guarantee is hard to fulfill if the various religions do no acknowledge this. Those that demand recognition as the only true religion, forfeit any moral obligation of a state that would make freedom of conscience a principle.

As the world has become more contentious, successive Western administrations have chosen to step around this issue, like a dog turd, and pretend they don't smell it.

Hardly any Homos live there either. You live in Rooty Hill, no?

Penrith has 5 Catholic schools. Hardly any Jesuits live there.

They must bus them in, no?

Not from moi, dear. We already have that.

No, all you'll hear from me is the familiar cry for council regulations. Nothing more, nothing less.

We won't hear of any illegal tree-lopping in Penrith, thank you very much.

Not on Homo's watch.

That's a novel approach. Asking the rate-payers their opinion.
