It won't be the last time either. Nearly everything you're 100% certain of goes the other way. When this is pointed out to you, you go into hiding. You're most obedient that way, Homo. You have no right to tell others how to run a school, what to wear, or what to believe. You have no say in whether a religious school opens up a couple of suburbs away, no matter how many online petitions you sign or emails you pass on from One Nation - and for you, this would be doing something. We have a rule of law which applies to everyone. If you want to get a collection of like-minded parents together and open an Aussie Aussie Aussie private school, you're perfectly free to do so. I have no right to tell you to close it down or go somewhere else, and I wouldn't. You're free to impart your values onto your kids, as long as they're legal. Your kids will learn for themselves when they get older. They'll decide whether you're full of krap or not. Why are you so in favour of Saudi style education? Perhaps because you haven't produced any evidence that is what will happen? In reality, Islamic schools in Australia appear to have similar teaching curricular to all other schools in Australia. Tsk, tsk, shot down again, hey, Gordon? except for the gender divide. Interestingly, gender division has been discussed for a long time in general education circles outside the religious sphere, Hammer. It seems boys do better without girls in some subjects and girls without boys in others. Funny that, hey? I have a Muslim school 1km from my house. The boys run around playing sport in shorts and t shirts while the girls swelter covered head to toe in a segregated game of catch. There's loads of differences between between Islamic education and the rest. Particularly in the arts. It doesn't belong in Penrith. Penrith as a aussie town. It's like building a mosque in Vatican City. Religious and cultural compatibility is something that really needs to be taken into account with developments. "Penrith is an Aussie town"? So, then, why are they attempting to build an Islamic school there? Schools are built to answer a demand, Hammer, they are expensive and so they are only built where they are needed. I'd suggest you recheck your Census data if you believe that Pentrish is "an Aussie town", in that the overwhelming majority of it's population is made up of White, Christian, Anglo-Saxon/Celtic inhabitants... Quote:The religious makeup of Penrith is 27.8% Catholic, 24.7% Anglican, 16.6% No religion, 8.8% Religious affiliation not stated, 3.4% Presbyterian and Reformed, 2.8% Uniting Church, 2.4% Christian, nfd, 1.9% Islam, 1.6% Buddhism, 1.5% Pentecostal. [ Source] So, approximately 1.9& of it's population states itself to be "Islam" in belief. With a population of 11,813 according to the same site, that means approximately 224 are Muslim. I think that is sufficient, plus those from surrounding areas to justify wanting a school dedicated to their faith. I wonder how many other specialised, Religious based schools there are in Penrith? Why aren't you protesting against them, Hammer? Tsk, tsk, Islamophobia on display here again. Hey Brian Islam, there's no need for a second Muslim school at Penrith you dropkick. Hardly any Muslims live there. Obviously Muslims want to build the school so they can move into the area. The Penrith people don't want them. They change places. As far as I know, the Penrith people haven't been consulted, Hammer. We have only heard from the local Islamophobes who protest at anything do with Islam. In reality, as the figures I have provided show, there are approximately 224 people in Penrith who profess to being Muslim. I am sure there are similar numbers in surround areas. I think, as they are Australian citizens or residents they enjoy exactly the same rights as do every other Australia. As long as they satisfy the planning requirements under the Local Government Act, then there is nothing stopping them from establishing their school. You are on the outer on this, as you should be. Islamophobe. The local people have been consulted. There's a petition with 1,000's of signatures on Change.org. A council meeting for locals is about to be undertaken. It's actually big news in Penrith.
