Netanyahu Slams NY Times, CNN As ‘Fake News’ For Pro-Hamas Stories

The New York Times and CNN were slammed as “fake news” on Sunday, but this time the words did not come from President Donald Trump.

Trump’s favorite derogatory words for the media were borrowed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was incensed about the American media’s reporting about the Palestinian group Hamas.

“Ever wonder what fake news is?” Netanyahu asked in a video. “Last week, headlines in CNN, Al Jazeera and The Guardian said Hamas now accepts a Palestinian state along the 1967 lines. The New York Times headline called this ‘moderation.’”

Netanyahu contested the media’s accuracy.

“The intimation is that Hamas now accepts the State of Israel,” Netanyahu continued. “Great news, right? Well except for one small detail: This is a complete distortion of the truth.”

CNN’s headline on the new Hamas document reads: “Hamas says it accepts ’67 borders, but doesn’t recognize Israel.”

The New York Times covered the story with the headline, “In Palestinian Power Struggle, Hamas Moderates Talk on Israel.”

“Is moving from calling for genocide of all Jews to calling just for the annihilation of Israel – is that progress, or moderation?” Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu said the Hamas document’s claim that it would accept a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, prior to the Six-Day War that vastly expanded Israel’s territory, is at odds with the group’s avowed purpose — the destruction of Israel.

Netanyahu argued the new Hamas document does not compromise on that point.

“The new Hamas document says Israel has no right to exist. It says every inch of our land belongs to the Palestinians,” Netanyahu said. “It says there is no acceptable solution other than to remove Israel. So why does Hamas say there is a consensus for a smaller Palestinian state now? In order to destroy Israel later. They want to use their state to destroy our state.”

Hamas is a terrorist organization, plain and simple, Netanyahu said.

“It’s bad enough Hamas lies to the world, we don’t also have to lie to ourselves,” Netanyahu said. “Hamas murders women and children. It launched thousands of missiles at our homes. It brainwashes Palestinian kids in suicide kindergarten camps.”

The prime minister concluded with a flourish.

“So, where does this hate-filled document belong?” he said, before crumbling up a document and placing it into a garbage can.

You need to learn about what really happens not the what the MSM provides for you in the shop front window. It comes as a bit of a shock to all of us to learn the degree to which we have been lied to.

You can try and belittle me all you like.  The reason that I wanted to know what part of that particular video is fake in Light's opinion (you know, since it's his original claim and supporting evidence) is after doing the research there is a lot of conflicting evidence. 

Firstly the comments from the reporter himself from 2009 that they were in fact in Saudi Arabia and claims to the contrary are totally untrue.  Sure that will easily be dismissed as a cover up by weak mined conspiracy nuts who only need evidence when it's regarding claims they don't like, and they never accept any evidence put forward as legitimate anyway, so we move on...

Then there are plenty of behind the scenes photos and video of the broadcast location on the top of the hotel and the view to the city and airport that show they were in fact where they claimed to be (not in a studio, or on a set or even on top of the CNN building state side) and you can even see in some shots the wooden huts in the background that had been built by the other competing networks for their broadcasts on site.

Then there are the claims that CNN admit that it was fake and publically apologised for it.  Great, but there is literally zero evidence of that anywhere online.  Lots of people talk about it but nobody has ever posted it, EVER.

So if it's not that then it must be the claims that were made during the actual live crosses.  Yes they were very speculative (which is putting it nicely) but they openly admit they didn't know for sure the type of missiles etc being used or if they were chemical or not even if they adorned their gas masks just in case.

They even said at times they were speculating as to what the causes of the blasts were, but there were in fact blasts.

In the race to be first to report they didn't have all the facts.  I'm not trying to defend that, but how does that equate to a premeditated attempt to not only mislead people but push a certain agenda?

This is another reason why I'd like to know what light considers to be Fake News, so we can all at least be talking about the same thing.

The standard of mainstream journalism these days even going back to the 90's is terrible and I'm not for a minute trying to defend that.  Faux Balance, Opinion as fact, the shitshow of guests talking over each other, we all deserve better.

But crying wolf about fake news, or blatantly lying about it as Light has been caught doing before only make things worse.
Light spreads fake news to counter fake news, it's utterly moronic, which I suspect is why he refuses to answer my questions lest he be caught out again and his abandonment of his "namaste" stance and resorting to petty attacks and insults just strengths that.

Next he'll be playing the victim.  Anything to avoid being exposed as the liar he is.

He quickly buried the highlighting of his belief that Michelle Obama is a man too.  He really should just own his claims, but that would take conviction.

I'm happy to provide what I've found about this video as I have done before, but this time I won't do it until Light decides to make clear what part of the video evidence of "fake news" that he submit himself, proves beyond doubt that it is somehow fake and therefore all mainstream media cannot be trusted.  I would also like to know what he considers fake news too as he's accused those with differing opinions as "fake news".

I'm after some consistency otherwise this "debate" is just a nutter posting the same youtube videos over and over.

I've given him the benefit of the doubt many times and all I get in return is just spam spam spam, reposing the same crap over and over across multiple threads to bury my comments.

And that coward accuses me of having my head in the sand, please...

Mr Light is not trying to fool you Mr Kangaroo. He went down the rabbit hole many years ago and it has given him a different perspective. One that is different from mainstream conformist opinions. He abhors the Borg collective mindset.

What he is doing is to inform and enlighten you and others. So he posts material that supports this point of view.

He posts video after video to show examples of fake news, but when asked for some specifics he shuts down and reverts to posting cry baby images or other stupid memes?  What's the point of posting the video evidence in the first place if he cannot elaborate on what they show or back up the claims?

If someone has missed his point, they've identified that and asked for some clarification and he runs away, that doesn't shine him in the best of "light"...
