Nah - The Guv will bail them out... what we are seeing is the first signs of corporate mega-failure after the execs etc squirrel away kazillions for themselves, and then put their hand out to be 'rescued' as a public service utility...... no such thing as asking the shareholders to kick in a little more to compensate for negative share prices....

modern technology is making traditional media obsolete.
People just won't sit there anymore being bombarded by adverts & lousy shows.
We go online & find what we want to see & hear.

Only got themselves to blame - I can't swallow those cooking shows and house renos with someone else's money and Survivor with plastic inserts..... I reckon put all those cooks and reno phantoms onto a desert island for REAL survivor.and you've got a show.....

Actually, I advocated, coupla years ago, that they do "Survivor - Two Islands".. one populated by women, the other populated by men.. and both at loggerheads over who should run the show and how to produce enough food for all ..... when there are no choices ™ available, how long before they fraternise? Spice it up with a few 'feminists' having to actually struggle to eat .... coupla old chauvinists (who will probably get all the pussy).. and Ub's Yer Carbonkle!!
