I think Aussie reacts differently with different posters. Maybe you said something inflammatory or controversial and so he responded in kind?

There should be a clear reason for the ban. Stuffed if I can find it.

Yes, I once banned Aussie for 3 months plus 1 day (a very particular reason for that exact length) but mantra begged me to unban him so I did. I put the reason and length of the ban in the ban notice Aussie would have seen trying to log on.
