The "G" is for 'global,' meaning they have jurisdiction over the whole Board. They see everything like who is reading a Thread, what every Member's IP is, like who votes in a Poll and how they voted. They have access to all the buttons including the ban button.

The Mods (like me, here) have an overlapping jurisdiction but just in their own Board, like Relationships. We cannot see IPs, have no access to all the buttons...just a few. We have no access to the ban button, and if we want someone banned, we have to go ask a GMod to do it.

Setanta is excellent in providing that support. Can't say the same for any of the others.
