Politics, in the hands of 'men' is great in some parts of the world, but in Africa (for example) - it is not!

The Boers 'were integrating' with Xhosian Tribes of Southern Africa (even though after 80,000 years - the Bantu peoples had still not reached the end of the continent) and hence why they took up a predominantly 'Farming' existence.

Then the British turned up with its 'Politics' and took 'by force' - South Africa, with no intention of 'integration' - but to 'bully, trick and profit' from those already there.
Many Tribes aided the Boers against the British, but the British had more 'money' and support from the Mother Country to coerce, buy and turn (first the Coloureds: immigrants) the Xhosian tribes against the Boers. What you didn't hear in your Australian histories is the fact that many Xhosian tribes also aided the Boers continuously.

Overall, with the Australians/New Zealanders brought in as well - the Boer dream of living in peace and harmony with In truth, it is POLITICS that has destroyed South Africa. the South African peoples was destroyed by the British need for a 'Southern Outpost' of strategic importance.

In time, we saw the British 'Blacks' being an enemy of the Boers under the British 'Political' power ...hence 'Apartheid'.

...Hell yes! EVERY RACE should be REPRESENTED in EVERY part of the WORLD !~!

...So the 'Boer' is not there for 'raising families'. He's there for a sense of 'Cultural' participation.

I've worked with many 'Boer' South Africans. They are 'high achievers', dedicated, well educated, wealthy and even in the Riverina - still work as Farmers.

Over 200,000 'white' South Africans live in Western Australia.

I remember in one suburb of Sydney - both 'white & black' South Africans lived together 'in harmony'.
I guess - when strangers in a strange land ...better the devil you know! Wink
