Here is a hypothetical conversation between Donald Trump Jr. & a female Russian Lawyer, which closely reflects the pertinent details of what supposedly took place.

A Russian calls Donald Trump Jr on the phone. "Hey Don, I have some very damaging information on Hillary Clinton that will certainly help your father in his run for President"

Don responds, "Great, is it really something that will cause her to lose votes if we made it public?"

Russian Lawyer, "Sure thing, can't miss, her numbers will definitely fall through the floor!"

Don responds, "Excellent, lets meet on Tuesday 12:45pm at the 42st Cafe, & well go over your info"

Russian Lawyer, "It's a date. See you Tuesday"

Now, they meet & the Russian Lawyer offers her information to Don saying "I hope this helps your father in the election."

Don smiles broadly, & says "Her goose is cooked now! Wait till this hits the fan! Thanks."

Were there any laws broken?

Probably, but not definitely.....it depends on in the way the information was originally gotten/obtained by the Russians, how they probably hacked the DNC's computers to get it, as some suggest.

What about Donald Trump Jr.?

Did he break any laws by talking to the Russians, & getting information from them to use against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Election?

Did he break any law?

As long as he didn't help the Russians illegally get the information, he didn't break any laws, & more-so, he was free to use any illegal gotten information from the Russians to hurt Hillary Clinton's Election chances.

So, did Donald Trump Jr. break any laws?

No, none at all........

Here's Why Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz Doesn't See Any Legal Jeopardy for Trump Jr.

I agree......there is nothing "legally" wrong with what Donald Trump Jr. did, & regardless the source of the information (Foreign Government...EX: The Russians), he was "legally" free to use it in the 2016 Presidential Campaign against Hillary Clinton.

If you disagree, please feel free to cite the law that he broke (Include the Specific US Code he supposedly broke), & links to your corroborating evidence stating how he broke a law.

Evidence Mounts That Russian Lawyer Is A Globalist Mole

As more information surfaces about the Russian reporter who emailed Donald Trump Jr. and met once, we've learned that Natalia Veselnitskaya is an Anti-Trumper who works for George Soros.

Quote:
Questions are swirling over Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya after a picture of her with Obama’s ambassador to Russia emerged that was taken just eight days after she met with Donald Trump Jnr.

Quote:
The Russian lawyer at the center of the Donald Trump Jr. controversy posted photos from anti-Trump rallies held after the presidential inauguration, suggesting the woman may be a Democrat operative.

According to photos on Natalia Veselnitskaya’s Facebook, the Russian lawyer – who claims she has no ties to the Kremlin attended the Soros-funded Women’s March in Chicago the day after President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Facebook mobile phone photo uploads indicate Veselnitskaya attended anti-Trump demonstrations on at least two different dates.

A photo has also emerged of Veselnitskaya sitting behind Obama’s Ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul, at a Foreign Affairs Committee hearing eight days after her meeting with Donald Jr.

McFaul has been a notable never-Trumper obstructionist who has long entertained and fueled the theory of Trump-Russia collusion, despite a strong lack of evidence.

Seated next to Veselnitskaya is Emin Algaraov, one of the Russians who set up Trump Jr’s meeting with the Russian lawyer.

Veselnitskaya’s proximity to Obama’s Russian ambassador is questionable given her recent testimony to NBC News that she has no ties to the Russian government.

The lawyer has also been tied to Fusion GPS, the firm behind the infamous and discredited “pissgate” dossier.

Evidence is mounting the Russian lawyer may have been a honey pot set in place to trip up the Trump campaign.

“Was Veselnitskaya part of a ruse to entrap Don Jr. in an embarrassing situation that could later be used to implicate him as having colluded with Russia?”

Veselnitskaya met with Donald Jr. during the 2016 presidential election campaign after a promise to deliver damaging opposition research that would prove Hillary Clinton’s collusion with the Russian government.

Donald Jr. has admitted no such research was obtained and that the meeting was essentially fruitless..

There was no alleged phone conversation, Panther, so we don't need hypotheticals. Thankfully, we have it all in email:

Quote:
The email from Trump associate Rob Goldstone bears the subject line, "Russia-Clinton - private and confidential."

It says that the "Crown prosecutor of Russia" was offering to provide the Trump campaign "some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father". He explains this is "part of Russia and its government's support for Mr Trump".

The emails describe Veselnitskaya as a "Russian government attorney".
http://www.smh.com.au/world/donald-trump-jnrs-emails-are-far-more-damning-than-a...

Here is the law Donald Trump Junior, Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort are alleged to have broke:

Quote:
A federal law, Section 30121 of Title 52, makes it a crime for any foreigner to contribute or donate money or some “other thing of value” in connection with an American election, or for anyone to solicit a foreigner to do so.

But that's just the start.

Quote:
If it were to come to light that Russian officials did consult Trump campaign officials about the timing or tactics of the release of the stolen emails, that could raise the possibility of conspiracy charges under Section 1030 of Title 18, which bars unauthorized computer intrusions, specialists said.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/11/us/politics/collusion-trump-russia-campaign.h...

The hacking of the 2016 election is taken rather seriously in the US, Panther - so seriously, in fact, that the US has placed economic sanctions on Russia and withdrawn its embassies. This is part of a clandestine Russian operation to meddle in the elections of all Western powers. The Russians have also interfered in Sweden, and most recently, France. One of the biggest threats to Western democracy today is Russia. Whether you like Trump or not, the fact is the 2016 US election was hacked and influenced by the Kremlin. Given the synchronicity of the message (and his avowed support of Putin), it is highly unlikely Trump was not complicit.

And yes, this is illegal. Believe it or not, a majority of US citizens don't want a government outsourced to Moscow.

Lust like the untrustworthy source quoted yesterday a nutter right wing news outlet who shop for people who are going to say what they want.

The problem is they taylor the story to suite their desired outcome.

The problem here is that the outcome was substantially different from the story these guys tell.

The information was not passed to the Trump team for their use.

The trump team had colluded with the Russian government to undermine the US election. The method which is known was that the Russians to separate themselves from the process and sabotaged the US election by releasing stolen information through wikileaks and that the Trump team had become involved in the process.

Remember that the same evening as this meeting Donald Trump came out saying that information damaging to Hillary was about to be released in the coming weeks. It was released. The trump team had been party to this process.

The problem isn't that the Trump team were given the information but that they were party to the process in which the Russians attacked or sabotaged the US election.

This is very different from the story the people supporting Trump have made up.

Was Trump Jr Meeting Deep-State Setup For FISA Wiretaps?

Less than a week after news broke of Donald Trump Jr's meeting with Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya - the delayed "Boom" to deep state cheerleader and James Comey friend Benjamin Wittes's cryptic "Tick, Tick, Tick" tweet, Ms. Vesselnitskaya has been revealed as an anti-Trump shill whose meeting with Trump Jr. appears to be a deep-state setup used to justify the FISA warrant which the Obama administration used to spy on the Trump team via 'unmasking' - which was accidentally revealed by former Obama admin official Evelyn Farkas on live TV.

Moreover, the meeting in Trump Tower between Veselnitskaya and Trump Jr. was arranged by Rob Goldstone, is associated with Fusion GPS - the firm behind the largely-debunked salacious 35 page 'pissgate' dossier designed to take down Donald Trump, yet which failed miserably after being largely debunked.

Trump Jr. diffused an upcoming New York Times piece on the meeting by issuing a statement and Tweeting copies of the emails exchanged in the setup of the sit-down, scooping NYT reporter who had a Twitter "he broke me" meltdown.

(And just how did Sexton know about this a year ago?)

Meanwhile, Trump Jr. said that Veselnitskaya had no meaningful information and the meeting was a total dud.

Ms. Veselnitskaya is HUGELY Anti-Trump

Her Facebook page is littered with anti-Trump posts, and she either attended or at least posted a picture from an anti-Trump rally on January 22nd, 2017.

And as The Gateway Pundit and Conservative Treehouse report, Veselnitskaya was pictured in the front row at a House Foreign Affairs Committee meeting on June 14th, 2016 behind the anti-Russia-Russian US Ambassador, Michael McFaul- just five days after the reported meeting with Trump Jr.

It should be noted that Ambassador McFaul was very publicly discussing the ‘Muh Russia’ conspiracy narrative in the media and appeared on numerous NBC and MSNBC broadcasts during the 2016 campaign, and immediately after the election.

Additionally, it was Michael McFaul who was the architect of the Obama/Clinton “Russian Reset”, that eventually led McFaul to becoming the Ambassador to Russia (NYT Link).

McFaul was notably kicked out of Russia after he allegedly tried to help overthrow President Putin.

Michael McFaul, the U.S. ambassador in Moscow from 2012-2014, was accused by Russian state television of seeking to orchestrate the overthrow of President Vladimir Putin after hosting opposition activists and Kremlin critics at the embassy in his second day on the job.  (Politico Link)

Furthermore, Veselnitskaya posted a picture taken in John McCain's office in December of 2015, 6 months before the meeting in Trump Tower.

Recall that the Dept. of Justice drew up the original FISA application to surveil the team, which was rejected outright by the court.

The second application - written more narrowly, was denied in July. Finally - three weeks before the election on October 15th, the order was finally granted for three of Trump's associates - ostensibly the three who were in the meeting with Natalia Veselnitskaya - Trump Jr., Trump advisor  Jared Kushner, and former campaign manager Paul Manafort.

Here's the plot:

http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae269/oldpom/plot1.jpg

Denied Visa

Natalia Veselnitskaya was denied an entry visa into the United States in 2016, only to be overruled by a NY Court so she could participate in an lawsuit opposite fired US Attorney Preet Bharara, which the U.S. District Court of New York later granted on appeal. Why was her entry initially denied?

The actual date of the arguments in the case U.S. -v- Prevezon Holdings was the EXACT SAME date as the meeting in Trump Tower – June 9th 2016 CASE LINK -Conservative Treehouse
Link to 'Pissgate' Dossier Research Firm - Fusion GPS

And as The Independent reported on Monday, the man who arranged the Trump Jr. "setup" is music publicist and friend of Don Jr. - Rob Goldstone - is reportedly linked to Fusion GPS - the firm which Democratic operatives retained to develop the now infamous (and largely debunked) 35 page 'pissgate' opposition research dossier on Donald Trump.

A spokesman for the President’s legal team told The Independent they now believed Ms Veselnitskaya and her colleagues had misrepresented who they were and who they worked for.

“Specifically, we have learned that the person who sought the meeting is associated with Fusion GPS, a firm which according to public reports, was retained by Democratic operatives to develop opposition research on the President and which commissioned the phony Steele dossier.” -Mark Corallo
And from the Daily Caller

The Washington Post suggested the person was Rob Goldstone, a music publicist and personal friend of Don Jr. Don Jr. has neither confirmed nor denied Goldstone’s involvement.

Whoever the acquaintance was, subsequent reporting by Circa News said that members of the President’s legal team have confirmed that the acquaintance “who sought the meeting is associated with Fusion GPS.”

In closing - Why would a Russian attorney who hates Donald Trump and has ties to the 'pissgate' dossier firm - Fusion GPS, agree to provide Trump Jr. with opposition research on Hillary Clinton unless it was a setup?

The Russian lawyer at the center of the Donald Trump Jr. controversy posted photos from anti-Trump rallies held after the presidential inauguration, suggesting the woman may be a Democrat operative.
According to photos on Natalia Veselnitskaya’s Facebook, the Russian lawyer – who claims she has no ties to the Kremlin – attended the Soros-funded Women’s March in Chicago the day after President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

“Was Veselnitskaya part of a ruse to entrap Don Jr. in an embarrassing situation that could later be used to implicate him as having colluded with Russia?” asks Infowars editor Paul Joseph Watson.

Evidence? What's your source, Mechanic?

Don't want to say, eh?

Cunning. Loose lips sink ships, innit.

I'm sure he just forgot.

He'll cite his reference any minute now.

I'm sure he will, Greggery. I'm sure it's a good source too.

Mechanic wouldn't dream of copying from a proven FAKE news site like Infowars or anything.

Very good, very good......but no cigar on this one.....well, not yet anyway.

Section 30121 of Title 52's 'original intent' was to eliminate the possibility of foreign money/contributions/currency being used to corrupt the individuals foreign governments contribute to in that they would then owe 'access' to foreign entities in the day to day workings of the US government.

Bottom line the original intent was regarding "Financial"  investment into American Elections creating Foreign pathways into the US Government itself.

The “other thing of value” was meant to define other things of "monetary value", not merely a physical or intellectual item of value.

Now, lately many lawyers allude to this phrase as "possibly" being used to define "information" as an item of value.

This definition has never been used in any criminal proceeding where Section 30121 of Title 52 was cited.

There is no "legal  precedent" for using "information"  as a basis of criminal activity in regards to Foreign intrusions into American Electoral undertakings via Section 30121 of Title 52.

So, there may be some court somewhere willing to break 'new ground' to use Section 30121 of Title 52 in this fashion, someday, but to use it as an argument for high level criminal activity is far from likely......that is, but not until,  a "bona fide" precedent can be cited to allow legal debate on the issue before the court.

Wink

......The problem here is that the outcome was substantially different from the story these guys tell.

The problem isn't that the Trump team were given the information but that they were party to the process in which the Russians attacked or sabotaged the US election......

Sorry, a citation is required to corroborate those overreaching & legally undocumented assertions.  Thanks  Smiley

That is unless you admit they are just personal speculations, & simply points of view, absent of any "bona fide" proof. Smiley
