Moreover, on 11 March 2010 Federal Parliament passed laws that prevent the death penalty from being reintroduced by any state or territory in Australia.

I am not in favour of it, however that same parliament could change legislation, so its not totally out of the question.

Yes - laws can be changed  especially when you
consider that terrorists want to commit mass murder -
they don't care about killing people - about the lives of others.
Why should we care about their lives?

As far as I'm concerned they're scum & I would volunteer
to operate the guillotine or gallows.
I'd sleep well the same night knowing that society was a better place.

Seems like the security services are playing whack-a-mole.

Perhaps a tactic which addresses the root cause of these terror plots needs to be looked into.

Any suggestions?

We all know what the root cause is -

radical Islam.

Ah.

A family of Syrian refugees! How quaint!

Nobody is disagreeing with you, Booby.

However, the premeditated, state-sanctioned killing of prisoners would make us just as bad as them.

I'm better than them - I don't condone killing I don't like.

Greggy,
you're weak -
that's why eventually one of these terror plots will work.
There are too many limp wristed, bed wetting people in charge of our country.

If you are planning on flying anywhere today be advised to get to the airport two hours early due to security concerns.
The politicians bring them here and we pay the price.

We do it all the time, and without a trial so you should not be so precious.

I am talking about when the police or TRG turn up.

Booby, you're an idiot.

We could put in laws tomorrow that would see anyone planning a terrorist attack executed, and it wouldn't change a thing.

As I've already explained to you, capital punishment does not deter would-be crims from committing serious crimes.

Moreover, using capital punishment would make us just the same as them.

Terrorists: "I don't like these people, so I'm going to kill them".

Sir Booby: "I don't like these people, so I'm going to kill them".

Dear oh dear.

Sydney terrorism raids believed to relate to 'bomb plot involving aircraft'

The Australian Federal Police have conducted a number of terrorist raids across Sydney over a suspected bomb plot to bring down a plane.

The raids, conducted by the Sydney Joint Counter Terrorism team, took place in Surry Hills, Lakemba, Wiley Park and Punchbowl on Saturday afternoon.

http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/three-terror-raids-carried-out-across-sydney-20170729-...

Australian Federal Police Commissioner Andrew Colvin ...

... said police did not yet have information on "the specific attack, the location, date or time", adding that he expected the investigation to be "long and protracted".

Ah.

It should give Malcolm a boost in the polls, though.
