Am I doing Something Wrong?
1. About a Month ago, I stopped in the lane closest to the outside of the road, at a set of “Traffic Lights’, because the Lights facing me turned Orange. About 5-10 seconds or so later, a car travelling in the lane closest to the middle of the road went thru a RED Light and very nearly hit a car which had come from our right, thru a Green light. If I had been in the lane closest to the middle of the road, I would most likely have been hit, as clearly the other car’s driver was not looking ahead!
2. Within the last month, I was overtaken by a car travelling in the lane closest to the middle of the road, as I was already in a section of road, which went from 2 lanes to one lane, all of which was clearly marked. Fortunately, I had the other car in my rear vision mirror and I slowed down, to avoid a collision!
3. Also within the last month, I was overtaken by a car which had been behind me, then changed to the lane closest to the outside of the road, at an accelerated speed. All of this took place just before where the road went from two lanes to one lane & the closed lane was clearly marked. Fortunately, I had the other car in my rear vision mirror and I slowed down, to avoid a collision!
4. Last night, on the way home from our daughters place, I was driving along a major road, within the speed limit (as usual) & as we approached a T Junction (which had a “Give Way sign”), the vehicle which had been stationary behind the Give Way Sign pulled out, when we were basically right there. Fortunately, I had been watching & as soon as the other car started to pull out in front of us, I hit the brakes hard & swerved out a little into the lane closest to the middle of the road. The other car must have FINALLY seen/heard us & braked, so we JUST avoided hitting it. Also fortunately, there was no other car in the lane closest to the middle of the road, so we didn’t hit anything in the other lane.
So again, the question is “Am I doing Something Wrong”?
And, the appropriate answer, as I see it, is NO!
That said, there are “SOME DRIVERS” out there, WHO SEEM TO HAVE A FEW ISSUES and my thoughts are,THEY ARE NO DOUBT CAUSING QUITE A FEW PROBLEMS!
Your Thoughts?
I have diagnosed your case and it is very serious. You are suffering intense symptoms of DUIS, driving under the influence of sobriety.
The cure. Do not drive past the next bar.
