I hear that child sex offenders Keith Wright and Bill D'Arcy have applied for a licence to run a child minding centre.

Labor are no better than the Liberals but this thread is about the LNP links to the Mafia....Your deliberate attempt the distract shows you have nothing to add to any topic!!!

I'm better at this than you.

Do you want me to go fishing and find a topic where you have expanded the conversation or would you just rather be tagged as a whited sepulchre?

Feel free....You will be disappointed as usual!!!

Secret tapes reveal Liberal insider's plot to deliver alleged Mafia donations to Matthew Guy
Quote:
A Liberal insider conspired to funnel donations from an alleged Mafia boss and his three relatives into party coffers after a lobster dinner involving the men and Victorian Opposition Leader Matthew Guy, secret phone records have revealed.

Recordings of phone conversations obtained by Fairfax Media and Four Corners involving Liberal Party official Barrie Macmillan also capture Mr Macmillan plotting to split the promised donations into smaller amounts to avoid disclosing the source of the funds to authorities.

I predicted this.

Bam wrote on Feb 19th, 2016 at 9:20am:
This week, Pickering on The Weekly (ABC) was blasting the current donation rules for political parties in Australia. Apparently, our system of donations is amongst the most corruptible and least transparent in the developed world. For example, in the USA all donations of US$200 or more during an election cycle (4 years) must be declared. In Australia, the legal threshold is $12,800, per year, per branch. Someone could legally donate over $100,000 a year to a political party and it does not have to be declared, by breaking it up into smaller donations to evade reporting. That is money laundering.

Bam wrote on Jul 11th, 2015 at 6:16pm:
You're assuming that the Liberal party's links to the Calabrian Mafia aren't going to be a problem. It is ... especially with the Liberals always raising the threshold for political donations - it hides the Mafia "donations" nicely. Vanstone's cancelling of a deporation order against a Mafioso ... very suspicious. Mafia attending Liberal party fundraisers. Very suspicious. Abbott's massive distraction with terroroism and asylum seekers - what is he hiding? Planeloads of Mafia?

You thought NSW Labor's problems were bad enough with a bit of corruption, it's got nothing on the Liberal party's links to organised crime.

Jesu Wept; it took all of 2 minutes. The subject was fudge packers and pillow biters and you added...

In 2007 both the ALP and LNP took an ETS to the election....When Mal tried to honour the LNP commitment and the ALP mandate he was shot down by Tony Abbott who went full retard on any attempt to curb Australia's carbon emissions....The LNP are hypocrites who have no respect for any mandate and can be expected to do what ever their donors tell them!!!

What the hell has an ETS got to do with chocolate cowboys?

Liberal Party official Barrie Macmillan, who was caught on tape conspiring to funnel donations from alleged Mafia boss Tony Madafferi to Victorian Opposition Leader Matthew Guy's campaign, has resigned from his party positions.
n recorded phone conversations obtained by Fairfax Media and Four Corners, Mr Macmillan said a promise of donations was made after the lobster dinner.

He was also recorded saying he was trying to organise a second dinner with Mr Guy, Mr Madafferi, Mr Madafferi's cousin Frank Lamattina and two other Madafferi relatives.

"Frank [Lamattina] rang me and said, '
Look, four of us guys would like to have a dinner with Matthew, and we want to push some dollars his way
', and I said, 'Well, look, we have to be extremely careful there'," Mr Macmillan said in the recording.

When will Matthew Guy suddenly resign "to spend more time with the family"?
I'm thinking Friday PM - around 2:00ish.

I guess we can probably retire this thread pretty soon.  Looks like no coalition supporter wants to agree (or disagree) with the sentiment that somehow, the libs have done something wrong.

It's a real sad lack of honesty to be honest to never acknowledge the times when coalition is at fault.  Not that it was ever a surprise - time and time again we saw the double standards, the exercised right to hypocrisy that is the very lifeline of the coalition mindset.

I hope you're not surprised .... the coalition corruption thread is up to page 32 and not a single comment of condemnation from the wet lettuce leaves that make up the forums liberal party fanboys.

Indeed.

And they made up the story on a Sunday, so they got paid penalty rates.
