I'll vote "no" to SSM as well. It is just not something I agree with. It's like all of this gender-neutral crap. We aren't like some organisms that have the ability to change their gender in order to procreate. We're made as man and woman and I think any attempt to try to obliterate that distinction is patently ridiculous. As for SSM, the gay community can have their civil unions and they still get access to the same government benefits as straight couples. But marriage has always been between a man and a woman since biblical times and should remain so.

For hundreds (if not thousands) of years, homosexuality was considered an abomination by the Church and it was the Church that oversaw marriage. No homosexuals were allowed to marry. It's not until relatively recent times that marriage has been overseen by the State. So, yes. I am correct.

Etymologically speaking, the terms matrimony and marriage derive from east Africa, the cradle of civilisation. The words derive from the 'ma' sound belived to be the first sound babies make. Indeed, marriage stems from ancient words relating to 'mother' as mothers were the backbones of the tribes. Therefore, it goes, that 'marriage' could not exist without male/female coupling.
