Won't happen. The projection of power is more than having a relatively few boots on the ground - boots on the ground are for mopping up after the fracas under the current rules....

You don't seriously think the US will let go of Japan as its Western bastion? More likely Japan will be encouraged to re-arm and then it all starts over again.... maybe.. but it's all right as long as the Nips are on OUR side, yes? Unfortunately, they have been carrying on a war against the West for decades now.. by economic means, including licencing car etc building to China which is a stop-gap due to their own 'Western' lack of competitiveness due to standards of living/wages etc ...... and once re-armed as a necessity..... if I were a NK or Chinese personage, I'd watch myself very carefully....
