What the power bosses are actually saying

Electricity generators have rebuked the Turnbull government for delaying the introduction of a clean energy target, arguing a target will trigger new investment and bring down power bills.
Mr Turnbull will meet the bosses of some of Australia's biggest power companies in Sydney on Wednesday for a second round of discussions about skyrocketing rising power prices.

"If you want to fix power bills, you have to fix that problem. New investment to replace Australia's ageing fleet of power stations is stalled as the result of a decade of national climate and energy policy uncertainty."

I wonder if our rightie friends will be as scathing of this as they were of Rudd's Fuel Watch plan just after his election in 2007.    They had a LOT to say about how crappy they reckoned that was - and how it reflected on his leadership qualities.

Another Labor initiative adopted by this failure of a Government.

How about getting all the industries do what you want with the electricity retailers?
Say, like mortages, mobile carriers?

We won't be getting anything from labor either, so prepare yourselves for endless energy issues that will make the current situation in South Aus seem like the good old days.

No-one whats to deal with base load power, not at any level and everyone know that renewable will not meet our base load requirements. Germany had full renewables power for one single day, three fkken years ago.

We know the answer, but not one single person wants to say it.

Good times people, they are over.

The market needs certainty before anyone will invest in long term projects....Turnbull has promised to look at a RET but with resistance from the right within his party he will do nothing as usual....We cannot have the best energy policy because Turnbull is hamstrung by the right wing of his party and he has no balls!!!

The uncertainty of Australia’s carbon policy is causing reduced investment, including in renewable energy, regulators have told a parliamentary committee.

And until labor and the greens acknowledge that renewables will not provide base load power, and anything to the contrary is a wank. I wouldn't be expecting too much from them either.

LW more of your fake news efforts.

What about the power prices passing the moon in the very unlikely possibility that Bull S. ever gets in with his technically unsustainable ridiculous 50% renewable rubbish.

Of course everybody knows that Bull S. is just sucking up to the Greenies and really has NO power policy at all!!!!

But of course Bull S. is a bit distracted at present with his GetUp!Gate and his dual thingy hanging over him like a dark threatening thunder cloud.

No doubt Albo hopes Bull S. gets struck by lightning!!!

But Albo will have to do something corrupt to pass the unions' acceptance test.
