A nuclear strike on NK would affect Eastern Russia, China, South Korea, and Japan. Due to atmospheric systems with a generally west to east flow, radioactive fall-out would affect Canada, USA, Hawaii, and Mexico within days.

People of North Korea clearly are not a threat. They have no territorial ambitions. Simply their priority is survival and independence, and that is what has always driven the North Korean nuclear program. As they have pointed out, they have seen what happened to Iraq after Iraq allowed itself to be disarmed by the UN. They saw what happened to Libya after Libya gave up its nuclear program. They are determined to avoid the same fate. They also remember what happened to them during the Korean War, when over three million people were killed in that war. More towns and cities were destroyed by bombing in North Korea during the Korean War than in the whole of Japan or Germany during WWII. In fact, the US dropped more bombs on North Korea in the Korea War, than it dropped in the entire Pacific region during WWII.

So true. And that's why I think North Korea has every right to feel the way it does.

It is not a case of North Korea defending itself, it is the Stalinist government headed by the heir to the Kim dynasty that is defending itself. The division between North and South is purely artificial. South Korea is a prosperous nation, and you cannot argue with results. The North has produced nothing in the years since the division. How anyone can spin this to make out that the South and their allies are the bad guys is the stuff of wacko conspiracy theorists. Even the Chinese and Russians gave up trying say the Western way was bad for the population. Take a look at the living standards of the two Koreas.

The Express is having a premature ejaculation. Leakage of radioactive vapour from an underground detonation is often delayed.

Yes well, South Korea doesn't have Sanctions against it does it?  Roll Eyes
As for Communist Stalinism - well this is where China might take it out eventually on Russia for starting the whole shemozzle, before becoming Capitalist itself.

Zimbabwe: Sanctions via Britain. Zimbabweans in support of Mugabe are looked after, while British supporters are left to starve ...not cared for by Britain (who stole Zimbabwean land).

Don't be Hypocritical.

The same as your Queen Elisabeth dynasty defending itself.

Or maybe she was democratically elected.
