One sensible move from Germany
Sep 6th, 2017 at 7:32am

Both the ruling Chancellor and her challenger agree that Turkey should not become part of the EU.
Speaking in their TV debate, they used different words but both made it clear they would request the EU to end accession talks. And surely a request from Germany is as good as a nod to the EU.

At least this means that scores of millions of increasingly radical Muslim Turks will never get free movement in Europe.  If they want it now they will have to come take it like their ancestors tried twice to do.

Know the enemies of a civil society by their public behaviour, by their fraudulent claim to be liberal-progressive, by their propensity to lie and, above all, by their attachment to authoritarianism.
