That clip is a total Media exaggeration.

The Drug Testing does not 'suspend' payments.
The Drug Testing (alcohol too) is designed to bring attention to the Dole recipient to attend strategies to bring about an end to their substance abuse.

But, as the Druggies and Alcos say: "If you don't give us our Dole money - we'll go out and get it off other people instead."

Yep. When the Pollies did the first interview - they repeated a few times the issue of suspension that it won't be done.
It's just a focus on those who do spend their Dole on substance abuse and the need to work on putting their Dole to better use. They had to repeat this a few times because the Media journo's kept asking them. Roll Eyes

We had a 'drug Test' come in. He asked us if any of us was taking drugs? I answered "Yes - but all the right ones." 7 other guys failed the drug test that day.
