Do you think suggesting having a re-read before he copies and pastes it again (or at least before he copies and pastes it into Spineless Apologists) would help?

I think i've tried that before to no avail though.

I'm willing to give it another shot. Ever the optimist, me.

Not really, Mother. FD's not interested in what you say. It's what you don't say that's important.

Everybody else told him that. He didn't read them.

You recently described Islam as a deeply spiritual thing as a way of avoiding all the stuff that does not make sense. Now you are insisting we take Islamic feminism seriously just because it would not 'make sense' for a Muslim feminist to think of Islam as anti-feminist.

Why is it relevant whether Muslims make sense?

You recently conceded you have only read one chapter of the Quran in its entirety - and this was one of the smaller ones. There are in total 114 chapters.

Is it this 99% of the Quran that you are referring to as "the stuff that does not make sense" FD? Don't worry, I too can't make sense of stuff I can't be bothered to read either.

FD is it fair to say that not having read around 99% of the Quran, you are in a pretty laughable position to scoff at my claim about what most of the Quran is about?

And do you reckon Yasmin has read more of the Quran than you have?

I think she was widely panned because of the stupid things she did and said, and her hysterical over-reaction to criticism - eg fleeing the country and insisting all her critics are racist in order to avoid addressing the real  issues they raised. She is a self-entitled drama queen.

She flees the country after she received death threats, FD.

Must have been that time of the month, eh?

Women - sorry, tinted women.

I think the word you are looking for is feminist, Karnal.

A tinted, Muslim feminist.

The woman part we could forgive if she didn't stick her head over the bunker or anything.

How many genuine feminists do you know who claim Islam is the most feminist religion?

Tell me FD, if you are a feminist and a muslim, would it make any sense to think that Islam wasn't the most feminist religion?

"Oh yeah, I'm totally a feminist - its just a shame my own personal religious beliefs don't reconcile with my feminist beliefs".

Does that make sense to you?

It is to live in a glaring contradiction to claim to be a feminist and to believe the Koran and Mohammed.
You can be a feminist and an apostate muslim, or a lapsed muslim.

Oh I don't know Frank - glaring contradictions in people's beliefs are pretty common actually. Just take your laughable opinion recorded in my signature.

How many chapters in the Koran have more verses than chapter 9?

You might as well be begging Muslim women to lie to you.

mothra wrote on Aug 31st, 2017 at 3:01am:
I, as a feminist, fully support all women in their representation of their beliefs

Of course, this doesn't apply to women who disagree with you, does it Mothra?

It most certainly does. I am fully supportive of all people to represent their beliefs, be they legal and that they hurt no-one.

My own mother is a classic example. I disagree with her on a number of things. My father also disagrees with her on certain issues. My father has a tendancy to speak over my mother., as though her opinion is somehow less valid.

Despite not agreeing with her on many things, i am active in both encouraging and defending her right to speak freely.

You do know that not all feminists agree about everything, yes? We're not a homogeneous blob.

Like Muslims or prawns.

Like whether Islam is the most feminist religion? Like whether you should let Muslims hijack feminist and anti-racist causes to promote the most backwards set of beliefs you can find?

Mothra do you also support people like Blair Cottrel and Gerald Fredrick Toben in their representation of their beliefs?

Mothra? Are you running away from this also? Are you only fully supportive of people to represent their beliefs if you agree with them?

Did you not read or not understand my answer to you?

I don't believe you answered Mothra. Feel free to direct me to it if you did. Or, you can just do your run and hide trick again.

Do you also support people like Blair Cottrel and Gerald Fredrick Toben in their representation of their beliefs?

My standard response to someone idiotically claiming they know a book they haven't read is that it counts for nothing. Would you actually disagree with such a response?

Do you think someone who has actually read the Quran and claims it is predominantly about personal sprituality has a bit more credibility than someone who hasn't read it and claims its all about power and dominance and head hacking?

When a Florida pastor threatened to burn that Book the Indonesian president said that could threaten world peace.

What does this verse mean?
Quote:
Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.

I eat King Prawns by the bowl-full when they're in season, but it's a dodgy business finding the ones that haven't been grown in the Mekong river and other South East Asian sewers.

The size of some of the King Prawns and Tiger Prawns I eat are so large they have to club them like baby seals when they're netted and pulled on deck ...   Tongue

I'm also crazy about those little dried salted prawns the Chinese shops sell in small bags at ridiculous prices.
