Discussion v Sledging

Been a surge of informative Discussions
or at least Discussions as a majority
over what erupts as many Topics of Sledging by majority.

I don't know why?
I've just noticed things are slowly picking up on Discussions running their course in Topics with just a minority of Sledging or sledging that doesn't drag on and on to the ruination of a Topic.
Nothing worse than entering a Topic at its first few pages, than having to 'grind' away another 10 pages before the point/issue of the Topic comes back to Discussion.
Nothing wrong with the odd 'sledge' - but some take the metre and run away for a mile with it.

Mercifully, thread discussions have been surviving for more than the usual 3 or 4 posts before collapsing into bun-fighting and tit-for-tat one-liner bitch-slapping. My congratulations to the mods.

I don't think any new bans have taken place.

I think the majority of Members here just wanna get on with Topical Discussion for want of just a 'few' sledged posts from those involved in the Topic.

It makes a big difference when people drop 1 sledge post out of 5 posts inputted to the discussion.
Compared to 30 sledge posts to 1 for the discussion.

A bit of *biffo* adds spice and colour to threads so long as it is not sustained to the extent of completely overwhelming the original discussion. The Gang of Four had no sense of moderation when on a graffiti rampage through the Board.

Karnal is still with us, but he's dampened down a bit since FD crash-tackled him over his penchant for blurting out gibberish in response to arguments he has no answer for.

There's still one here from The Gang of Four who moves through the Board looking for Nazis and racists like a sniffer-dog at Airport Customs, but he appears to have been tamed somewhat. As for the other three they are definitely cooling their heels in a Limbo of their own making at the direction of our Fearless Leader, with meanwhile the rest of us can enjoy a little peace and quiet at last as we chat about the subjects that are brought to our notice as thread starters.

There is, of course a bit of a Mellie ...oops I mean Melee in the far corner. But the Concierge, Doormen and Manager seem to be handling the noisy guests quite well.
