can anyone help me with this
Nov 10th, 2017 at 5:31pm

I have heard some disturbing news of late...and I am wondering if anyone here has had any bad dealing with our agedcare and or health system..

the reason I am asking is...I need to make a complaint about the treatment I have heard someone is getting  or maybe more to the point NOT getting..

and I dont know where to start...the person involved is in fact dying in a very very poor way  but its as if they have written him off..and it makes me ill thinking about him...I am sure he hasnt got long but what is happening is disgraceful...and his poor sister who is the one back and forth turning cartwheels  to get just a decent place for him to spend his final hours...

is getting nowhere... its all too difficult...

if anyone can help with advice I would appreciate it...as I live too far away to be of any hands on help

Are you talking about home care for him or finding him a care facility?

no BO he is in care of sort  hes been hospitalised for about 2 months...but they wanted him out his sister tried everywhere  he is a very bad case I am sad to say.. finally he was moved about a week ago  but it appears the place cannot cope with him  they dont have the ability   they dont even havea bed big enough for him to sleep in..he is full of fluid..blown up like a balloon since hes been in there...his sister is beside herself...and is sick of filling in forms and telling all and sundry what he needs  and getting nowhere....

she wants to take him home  but it will kill her as well I reckon....I dont know how long he has got...it could be a week a month or even 6 months.... but he needs special care and decent special care if there is such a thing..

if you think he isn't being treated properly by the care facility, then go, or get his sister to go,  visit your local federal MP. This is a hot topic in parliament at the moment and your MP will probably jump through hoops to be seen to be doing something about it.

Cods tell his sister to place his name in every old age care facility that she can find.

That's what we did with mum when she could no longer look after herself.

It then becomes a waiting game, someone has to pass away before they will take him.

When it comes to old age care for a first world country we sure get some third world solutions.

See if the sister can get a private specialist or at least a good GP to visit the hospital and assess his condition and situation and to recommend a solution

Every public hospital has a complaints officer, so a complaint can be lodged there at the hospital

Cods I saw something about palliative care at home this week on the tv not sure if it was ABC or commercial.

The good thing it was for FREE.

Tell her to look into that.

And it wouldn't make one iota of difference if she was a he.

Good luck.
