Far out...so what? Do we only discuss Australian law here? You're being ridiculous.

Mothra, I too gave up eating meat for animal rights purposes. I agree with every word youve said in this thread.

Dear Annie,
I thought you'd died?

You were the one who started the music thread
"what are you listening to"
& someone started a rumour that you'd died.
I can't find it now.

I'm pleased that the rumor was false.

Me too, Bobby!

Perhaps it was just wishful thinking.

Sure. If our animals weren't treated so poorly in the factory farming process, Id probably eat meat myself. I just can't contribute to that, so Ive voted with my feet.

I did once make a "horse racing kills" shirt to wear to work on Melbourne Cup day, but for the most part I dont push my views on anyone else Smiley

I now buy only the best quality grass fed beef from high quality providors, I'd never buy meat from Colesworth!

By buying the highest quality I'm buying a product that's been looked after well throughout the supply chain.

Yup the cow's had one bad day but I can live with that.

If I was in a position to do so, I'd love to raise the cows myself then give it the most humane death possible.

Cool. I'm fine with the 'one bad day' reasoning. I just cant deal with knowing about the ongoing suffering and contributing to it.

Yeah, proper farming would be great. If we ever go rural, Id love to have a rescue for senior animals. Maybe we'll be neighbours!

I often fantasize about an acreage change but wife is dead set against it.

As a city dweller I reckon another way I could acquire meat ethically would be to take up shooting.  Just a few hours outside of Sydney feral deer are plentiful and legal to take.

One shot and the animal is dead in 2 minutes after a life of freedom and my freezer is full of insanely high quality meat for 6 months.

With a good heart/lung shot or headshot death is instant where do you get this 2 minutes?

I could never eat plants that are grown in overcrowded inhumane farming conditions.   Smiley

Leftists and the Ayatollahs have a lot in common when it comes to criticism of Islam, they don't tolerate it.

Sounds like that could work! You bring them to a happy and healthy state and then Gordy gives them one bad day and buries them in his bowels.

Instant might be a little much for the heart/lung shot but a few seconds as the brain is starved and it would be in shock and feel little.

Works for me.  You pop around with one of your splendidly sharp kneevs and we'll get it all portioned up.
