Early polls report Moore up by over 4% ..... & that includes urban reports too....

Exit polls only. and exit polls are pretty inaccurate and in close races, usually get it wrong.

But not a surprise.

He doesnt sound like any Christian I know. I dont know any so openly predatory, racist or pro-slavery like Moore. And his 10 Commandments spectacle was an embarrassment.

Seems that the worm may be turning, & Moore is only up by a small 1.8% overall with 84% of the vote in.........

I hate to say it, but Jones might just pull this rabbit out of the hat yet....

Hey, that's politics, but as Yogi Berra said: "It ain't over until it's over"....

You seem upset that Ray Moore lost.

Ignoring the sexual assault allegations, Moore's career is riddled with details indicating that the man is, objectively speaking, a despicable lunatic: At various points, he has opined that Minnesota representative Keith Ellison is unfit to serve in Congress because of his Muslim faith; that kneeling during the national anthem is illegal; and that homosexual conduct should be illegal. Oh, he also supported the removal of his own party's Senate Majority Leader as soon as it becomes practicable.

This man as state Supreme Court justice was removed from office twice for failing to comply with various court orders—not a good look for a judge.

Moore refused to talk to a Washington Post reporter, citing their employer's endorsement of his opponent, Doug Jones, while simultaneously demonstrating a remarkably shoddy grasp of how reporting works.

"Y’all endorsed my opponent already, so, you know, that’s a hard position to be in,” Moore said. “But all these newspaper reporters, I wish y’all would print me as I am, and not as otherpeople say I am. That’s the only thing."

Yes, how dare a newspaper print an editorial in which it expresses an opinion about Roy Moore's fitness for office based on things he has said and done? Don't they know it's rude to point out that an unrepentant bigot with no respect for the law is, in fact, an unrepentant bigot with no respect for the law?

The exchange continues:

“Okay. How are you? Who are you?” a reporter asked.

“Well, I’m a lot different than how the Washington Post is portraying me, that’s for sure,” Moore said. “I don’t hate people. I’m a Christian. I don’t hate people.”

No, Roy Moore does not hate people. He just has repeatedly demonstrated a sincerely-held belief that certain types of minority groups are entitled under the law to fewer rights than other, non-minority groups. What's so wrong about that?! Eventually, Moore allowed that he no longer believes that there should be a religious test to hold public office, indicating that he at least possesses the ability to grasp basic concepts of American constitutional law, even if the results haven't always been there.

Ray's response to the sexual allegations is enough to at least raise an eyebrow.

He has spent the last month or so fending off stories and accusations of inappropriate sexual contact with teenage women - stories his campaign has wavered between outright denying and offering half-hearted explanations for. Their excuses have ranged between the women are all liars, that they're being paid to hurt his campaign, or that he usually didn't date teenagers (but may have slipped up a few times).

Now, Moore's representatives (and Moore himself) are claiming a widescale conspiracy theory against his campaign as being responsible for the onslaught of accusations.

Now, that is an allegation:

Quote:
.....Moore's representatives (and Moore himself) are claiming a widescale conspiracy theory against his campaign as being responsible for the onslaught of accusations......

An unproven allegation, that in law has the same weight as any of those accusations made against Roy Moore over the past 3 or so months.

Why?   Simply because not a single claim on either side of this equation has ever been proven in a court of law, or anywhere else for that matter, outside of the MSM's heavily biased Leftist, anti-Moore agenda.

Raven:

Doug Jones, the presumptive winner of this Alabama Senate Special Election, will have to run again....if he decides he wishes to sit in the Senate after next election in November 2018.

The Alabama Elections Board has said that if everything runs smoothly, & their aren't any irregularities, they might certify....his words, not mine.....they might certify this election on 26th of December. Which also means it could be later.

Now, if the final tally is only .5% apart, it will cause an immediate automatic re-count.

Roy Moore himself could also demand a recount, irregardless the spread.

It is then possible that Doug Jones may have to wait a long time before he gets seated in the Senate.....regardless, as I said earlier, he must run again in November 2018 if he intends to keep the seat, which as of this very moment, looks like he probably won.

Go ahead Yogi....say it again....."It ain't over until it's over" Wink

IMHO......I say, seat the bastard Jones......let him have a few months at it, then unseat him in November.  Grin

You still dont get it, do you creepazoid?  This wasnt a vote FOR a democrat. It was a vote AGAINST a pedophile and abuser of women as well as massive extremist nutjob.

Well you understand that you might understand why nov 2018 is not the issue since the democrats will probably gain majorities in both houses of Congress - while losing Jones' seat.  And we all know what that means....   IMPEACHMENT.

I think that's unfair, Panther. The people of Alabama want a genuine paedophile in power. Why should they settle for this silly Democrat?

Jones' win is remarkable for several reasons, not the least because the GOP voter suppression tactics of blacks that began a few years ago were not effective enough to bring Moore a victory.

From here in Australia where we have a genuinely independent Electoral commission where all officials and vote counters cannot even be members of a political party, the USA system simply reeks of fraud. The GOP routinely cheats and stops people voting for opponents. And when that doesnt work, they have actually been known to count the votes cast THEMSELVES behind closed doors. Serious....

Apparently they had a massive turnout of Democrat voters.

Over 90% if I recollect.
