Heat wave

Spare a thought for our earlier generations. And here I'm thinking about drought times going back as far as the 1890s and what I've  gleaned from family diaries.

No electricity of course so no air con or fans. No fridge, but there was what was called a drip safe, a sort of cupboard with hessian down the sides which was kept wet from a drip tank on top. Only minimal cooling from that.Butter for example would turn to oil. If people were lucky or wealthy enough to have a cellar food could be kept cool & preserved for longer.

No fly screens, so you either put up with the flies or kept the windows shut. Which wasn't real comfortable when a wood fired stove was kept going for cooking all day.

The 21st century ain't that bad.

Know the enemies of a civil society by their public behaviour, by their fraudulent claim to be liberal-progressive, by their propensity to lie and, above all, by their attachment to authoritarianism.

You mean that the Aboriginals didn't have reverse cycle air conditioning, refrigerators, fans and shopping centres?

Give the apologists a few months and they will try to convince you that they did, but the bad old white fella took it all away.

And then of course up to probably the 1940s people continued to wear heavy clothes in our climate. No t-shirts & shorts.
My god, they even wore wool swimsuits.

And what the women wore.coming out of the Victorian era was unbelievable.
Did they die of heat exhaustion? They would today.

I think overall Aborigines have done very well, what they are pushing is an attempt to rewrite history they were not invaded and a generation was not stolen, the church applied its stupid ideology where ever it could....... in fact if you refer to half casts then it was their own kind that rejected such as well as main stream white Australia so they were equally racist against mixed breads ..... why minorities get away with their racist past is beyond me.

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)
