Civil liberties campaign group Big Brother Watch has been a vocal critic of the technology since its inception.

“Not only is real-time facial recognition a threat to civil liberties, it is a dangerously inaccurate policing tool”, the group says.

It's used for screening, not as a basis for arrest or conviction.

George was an optimist

Once the grubberment has all your data, they sell it to big business and come down on you harder and harder.

They will never stop until they get everything you own, earn or will own or earn.

Time for a revolution.

"turning the innocent into suspects" is the sydney crim lawyers slogan, against this software.
How about "turning criminals into prisoners?"
I like the sound of that.

Pretty smart how Mohammed foresaw this problem, and had his followers wear masks, and hide their features behind bushy beards and monobrows. Cheesy Cheesy

Turning criminals into prisoners is good but since the software doesnt work thats not what happens.

Software doesn't turn anyone into a prisoner - even if a journalist says it does.

Maybe it's a bit off topic, but I saw a doco on how the UK police are recruiting "SUPER SEE ? ERS??"
F knowsw what you call them, but the point is they are 1% or less with super observant skills that can pick out faces from minute details.
Like one guy during Brixton riots was riding around doing bad shite with a balaclava over his moosh, but a camera got a side view of part of his eye and eyebrow, and the super looker picked him out from mugshots of local ne'er do wells, and he coughed to it. Done like a kipper.
Their abilities far outshine any software available or even contemplated as yet, and coppers are recruiting them as fast as they can find them.

People do hurt people, and I would like to see the fekkers pay, is all I'm sayin'.
