Minimum wages. The minimum wage is the base rate of pay that must be paid to workers who are permanent employees and aged 21 years or older. The current national minimum wage which takes effect on July 1st 2018 is $18.93 per hour. An employer cannot pay you less than the minimum wage even if you agree to it.
