One of the prime reasons for getting rid of current Government is to get rid of Dutton-driven stunts like the unnecessary and counter-productive Home Affairs, but oh no, not our Bill.

Is this serious? What exactly has Shorten said? There would be no support or justification in Labor for keeping this concentration of power in the hands of any one person. A new ALP Government should be winding back many of the excessēs of power granted to our security apparatus.

Report in Fairfax this morning that Shorten would head off a move from the Left to have Home Affairs dismantled. And of course the concern is how dismantling Home Affairs would be perceived. All politics, no substance.

Let's hope that this is yet another bit of lip service to prevent a wedge now & to be changed after an election. If it turns out we have voted in an LNP Look Alike ALP government there are going to be many enraged voters out there & Neither major Party will ever be trusted again.

Due respect Ron but never recall this ever happening, or at least the incoming gave some clue that they had our interests at heart. Sadly Mr Shorten never resiles from his stance of cruelty to the poor and vulnerable. Worries me that he cannot at least express support.

The ALP didn't turn Manus or Nauru into what they are now, they have been the opposition for the last 5 years. The LNP have had plenty of time to remedy the situation and they've only made things worse
