Yes, Australia has become a very strange nation. Their God is big government - a nation of progs.

The fundamental and most important element in any society is the individual. To the degree that an individuals freedoms are respected is the gauge by which that nation values its own people.

To remove a freedom for the betterment of all - is a lie!

How you treat one - you treat all.

Now you know what America would be like had you not won your war of independence. A semi-automonous British colony with a "self governing" constitution, and the Queen of England as your head-of-state

You'd be flying to your holiday destinations in re-conditioned DeHavilland Comets or Russian Tupalevs, and you'd be driving around in surplus Morris Minors or perhaps a brand spanking new Toyota Corolla

The CEO of the Bank of England would be your Prime Minister's right hand man behind the curtain, and you would adore and revere him

You would love everything that just happened to be compulsory, you'd think that's only way to keep the "herd" compliant

You would love "mob rule", it has an advantage, the advantage is: The mob rules

Unfortunately America appears to be heading the same way as OZ.

The radical left wing cult - even more ruthless than the middle age Catholic pogrom against heretics. These crazies are destroying this country from within.

Unless of course people wake up, which fortunately is slowly happening - egged on by Donald Trump.

'Everything Trump touches, dies'

It was a book title and now it is beginning to look like a Biblical prophecy.

Trump's feckless and grossly incompetent response will cost hundreds of thousands of lives that would otherwise be saved.

Instead of being re-elected, he should be indicted, convicted and executed.

It would happen but with any luck, COVID19 will do the ob for America and the world and remove the worst president in history, so bad, that a serial killer would be a better alternative.

Americans, unlike Australians, have the Right to defend themselves as they deem fit, with whatever weapon they choose.....it's a matter of that they CAN.........not that they require any government's PERMISSION in their decision making.....before proceeding to defend themselves.

Try that anywhere in Australia mate.....the government will not let you own any weapon specifically to be used for self-defense, for if you do they will lock your sorry ass up in prison if they disagree......you have no Right of choice! The government is your master, & you are their servant......pathetic

The Australian system isn't perfect, but as humans are essentially social creatures some form of social governance is only natural.

The USA has amazing potential, but as a society it has many of the traits of adolescence, rebelliousness, selfishness, recklessness, and a penchant for irrational and irritable behavior.

Hyper individualism is the adolescent stance of a rebellious teen and hopefully America will grow out of it.  Perhaps with the gaining of maturity they'll embrace free health care among other things.

As for gun control - the heavier armed the populace, the greater the counter-force!

Is the USA heading for a RoboCop future? Probably in some form or another.
And I'm sure many a Man-Boy will become irritable when a RoboCop takes his guns away.

Do you think the World would want their people's having free liberty to purchase guns?
Do you think the World want's your 'massacres', like Moslems in the Middle-East conducting terrorism?
Take a look at the Countries that do - they are in constant war with Militia's, Gangs, War Lords and Pirates.
Do you think the World would accept 'your USA Right to bear Arms' bullcrap!?
When it comes to 'People Power' in the Military culture.
That becomes 'empowered' in the Southern Hemisphere - not North. That's reserved for Top Brass - not the Common Mass.

That was the most accurate statement you made.

The Oz gov is considering ankle bracelets!! Not much has changed in 200 years.

Your attitude is one of pleading servility to authority - you are owned by the ones who's charter is to protect those freedoms.

You are tenants in your own country - you own nothing, even your offspring is registered at birth and the parents are delegated as trustees. But thats OK!!! You will hate me for telling the truth.

Democracy? You need some American rebelliousness.

Personal rights and ownership are respected here.

But Karnal is right at home with this quasi communist system as he/she owns nothing, having never worked and achieved or intends to achieve anything. Eh Karnal?

What international crimes? We should enforce our borders again and end almost all foreign aid! Giving money to people who hate you is just foolish.
