Hmm, that's debatable.

Well, it's subjective, really.

I don't find them attractive, or particularly talented.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

She sings in a band and has been in about 30 movies in about the last decade many of them successful.

She seems to be doing ok.

Oh, I'm not denying her success.

Justin Bieber is successful too, but I don't think he's talented.

Bieber, swift, perry and all those so called tallented folk are pushed/promoted by the music industry. Scripted singers. Most of the new age garbage is. They don't write their own music so to speak....it's co written. In other words that sat there while max or some other song writer wrote it.
There are thousands and thousands of people with great voices that get nowhere in the game...let alone bands that write their own music.

I am not a fan of Justin either but denying he has talent is a different thing altogether.

He would not be the success he is without a heap of talent in the mix.

You seem to be mixing up talent with your taste in how it is used.

Always been like that - talented singers can be a success for singing not expectation that they have to write too. I am fairly sure that Taylor writes, Think most of her original success was her own work.

If you look back to the great song writers and production teams it has always been that way.

Burt and Hal - Phil Spector etc all had artists to sing.

Most of the greats had other people write material for them, nothing new here.

I'm not a sock, however I've explored the message board you mentioned and it seems to me it's a thoroughly decent place free of the overt misogyny and racism here.

I wonder why he needs to post at this forum when he has his own? Perhaps he's not fully satisfied there.

I disagree.

There are many successful performers who have very little talent.

Marketing, hair, makeup, auto-tune - sure.

Artistic talent - not so much.
