not sure I wan t to know to be honest....

I am not convinced it should be just open to anyone...

schools maybe....maybe its time these men were monitored more   when they are released  monitored for at least 10 years...we have had one or two cases lately that have fallen through the cracks thats for sure....

the problem is   as they catch one another is making life hell for some other child or children somewhere..

People who have been downloading child pornography on the Internet have been caught and punished ... but .... are they "rehabilitated"?  I doubt it.

Checking this disgusting stuff on your computer just indicates that it is OF INTEREST to you and if you watch enough of that you will, eventually, want to DO IT in REAL LIFE.

Porn is one thing, CHILD PORN is something else. Those who do that to a child should be put away for the rest of their lives .... and named and shamed.

It's not tricky, at ALL

A lot of things - can find a lot of people - on a for life "sex offenders register"

I read of one case of an 18 year old male student teacher who VERY foolishly entered into a sexual relationship with a 15 year old female student

He was convicted of "statutory rape"
He is on a sex offender register for life
He can never become a teacher
If his identity were publicised - he'd be unlikely to be employed in ANY job

With laws struggling to catch up with technology, teenage "sexting" is coming under scrutiny
Even retrospectively

In my own personal case - I once locked eyes with one 6'2" handsome dude in a Sydney bar
We got comfortably wasted - and I ended up taking him home - for quite a lengthy session between the sheets
We had SUCH a good time, together, we picked up where we left off at daybreak

Eventually I got out of bed - and made us both a latte
I placed his - on his side of my bed - next to what turned out to be his "NSW Learner Driver's Permit" - showing his date of birth

This big, hairy-chested hunk - was SEVENTEEN - for F*CKS sake
(at the time, in NSW, the legal minimum age for any sort of "boy on boy" action - was 18)

I freaked out !

Had things not worked out so well, I could have been arrested, charged - and convicted - and then done time as an "evil paedophile"

As well as being on some Sex Offenders Register, to this day - and for the rest of life
And splashing my name all over some government web-site, for any potential employer to check - would make me virtually unemployable

So, of COURSE, I'm opposed to Dutton's lynch-mob, populist lunacy

Now if he decides to create a public list of released and paroled MURDERERS living undetected in our communities - perhaps I'll give it a re-think

A stunt from Mr Potato head....Police and authorities already know the whereabouts of registered sex offenders and are responsible for ensuring they abide by court rulings and restrictions placed on them....What purpose does it serve to make the register public and risk vigilante justice....What does Dutton expect the public will be able to do to registered sex offenders that police and the courts cannot???

Yeah....That's exactly what will happen if Mr Potato Head gets his way....Vigilantes will take the law into their own hands....What does Dutton think the public can do that police and courts cannot....Kill paedophiles???

Huh Huh Huh

Seriously, are you guys so desperate to have a hit at Greg you'd bang the drum over an 18 year old with a 15 year old as "underage sex"?

Of course it is, technically, but come on. You're not even going Buzz about it and he's the one who posted it!!

Is this what trolling has become on here? I don't know. It's just really dropped in standard. So disappointing.

buzz that happens to a lot of men   who get taken in by 15 yr old girls made up like tarts and say their 18.... surely there has to be some leeway with that law.....

when a person knows they are breaking the law....it does then very much become paedophillia no ifs or buts..

It's interesting to consider, mothra, that this situation I found myself in could JUST as easily be replicated with a heterosexual guy and a underaged girl

Perhaps I should ask every guy I want to jump into bed with - for photo ID, as proof of age ?

Though it's quite noteworthy, the bartender serving him alcohol all night, didn't think this was needed

The funny thing is, this is the part I was more interested in:

On the contrary -

I only ever asked for the law to be changed to
have hanging as an option for courts.
