Ah - so because I say NO I'm racist?

no, your racist because of what you say in a multitude of threads. This one is just another example.

Well - it's racist to demand that Australia Day be changed to suit a few Indigenous whiners and a rent-a crowd of do-gooders with some unspecified whining to do .. most Indigenes aren't Niqqers - only the ones who whine... I choose who is and who is not a Niqqer carefully... only the evil-doers are Niqqers ......

The answer is still NO.

I was thinking the same about you....... and your 10,000 silly mates .... do any of you know how ridiculous it is to demand changing Australia Day because you don't like it?  And racist when you put it in racial terms and on race grounds.

Did-ums... you're as bad as the whining Mussos and the whining sheilas - and you use the same 'logic'...

how many of those are national public holidays?

It's still days allocated & activities/celebrations organised ....

and I'll bet that if any of those who identify as AATSI, if they have a job will be allowed "cultural" leave.

So 11 pages, and still no-one has figured out what the protesters want?

They want it banned/done away with altogether ... not change the date?

To reiterate - we should change Australia Day to 1 January - the day Australia as a nation state was declared, not 26 January when the first colony, New South Wales was declared.   People who insist on 26 January being "Australia Day" are merely showing their ignorance.  Let NSW keep 26 January as their foundation day.   Australia Day is about celebrating Australia as a nation, not the single colony of NSW.    Roll Eyes

Someone said we could not judge a person's Aboriginality on their skin colour.  Why isn't that applied in the matter of Pascoe?  Tsk, tsk, tsk...   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Isn't Jan 1st still a "whitemans" day Brian? I'm sure the abos won't like that one either.

Long live Australia day on the 26th of January every single year. Life's lessons are that " ya can't please em all". So for all those who appose, please hold your breath until such day as it is changed.  Smiley

See yas again next year in a similar thread.... Cheesy

Very well said Brian. The best of this Topic so far.
Jan 1 should be Australia Day ...its a 'TIME' thing and we as Australians, may be 'Down Under' to appease the USA 'ego', but we are able to 'trascend time' in many ways and 'changing' to Jan 1 really should be no problem for anyone who is truly Australian that can "escape the 'shackles' that imprison us to the past".
We are also a part of the 'region' known as SAHUL that we share with Tasmanians, Melanesians (can be white too you know  Wink) and half of Indonesia this side of the WALLACE LINE. and Sahul is at the 'Start of Time' to take into consideration of the International Dateline being the 'Vertical' boundary around the world, compared to the horizontal of the Equator.

Throw in the curve ball that Jan 26th is also RUM CORP REBELLION DAY, that it is also indeed 'NSW's' Nationalisation day.

Now we have Aboriginal peoples headed by Australia's version of the Zulu Inkatha Party, the Kooris (from around Newcastle) - trying to invade the Day. Not to claim it as another Aboriginal Day among their many (more than anyone else HERE) - but just to destroy it for what it currently is....

...a Day that many 'FRIENDS' come together to BBQ in Public spaces. A Family comes to spend a day with other families and friends outside their own cultures. Hardly, do you see groups of Indians or Moslems meeting together with others of their own kind at the same Park. A group of Friends or one Family go out and spend the day with 'strangers' arriving at the same Parks.

I would definitely recommend the Australia Day Celebration to be moved to January 1st NEW YEAR'S DAY, even if 'Kooris' didn't give a hoot about Jan 26th.

I can see a big issue with it that won't go down to well with the oz population Jasin. It's 2 holidays on 1 day and the working man is going to lose a public holiday.

What? ... it's a recognition of Capt Arthur Phillips setting up the first settlement at Sydney Cove after first arriving at Port Jackson Botany Bay in 1788... as well as now being a celebration of this nations achievements past, present & future ... for all Australians.

Who hasn't got a clue?   FU.

After all these years of whinging the abos have never given us an alternative for Jan 26. That's because it would give away what this is really all about. What they want is a treaty day like the Maori have ( Waitangi Day). It all leads to this . They want us to pay rent and the whinging  will never end until they get it.
