Or alternatively name one where giving all the money from the rich to the poor has alleviated poverty.

So Norway hasn't alleviated poverty, it still exists. It hasn't lightened the burden by relieving the rich of their riches.

Trickle down is a lie. You should know that by now.

It was just a throw away line invented by a comedian in the '40s.

That is quite blatant handwaving. It doesn't matter what you call it - horse and sparrow theory, supply side economics - the theory is the same. By any name, it is a lie.

Horseshit. Find me one decent economic textbook or peer reviewed paper that even pays the slightest attention to these comedic words. Just one will do.

Horseshit yourself. It's in the Oxford Dictionary: trickle down. Limiting it to the narrow scope you've chosen is irrelevant because the same concept can have different names. Furthermore, whining about the name does not refute the argument that the concept is a lie.

All a dictionary does is spell out the meaning of words. The technical veracity of the word is of no consequence to Mr Oxford. There is no such thing as trickle down, conceptually or otherwise. It is reserved for comedians and commentators that don't know what they're waffling about.

I'll say this again: Whining about the name does not refute the argument that the concept is a lie.

If you disagree with the assertion that it is a lie, name one country where giving money to the rich has eradicated poverty. Just one will do.

Are there any that have eradicated poverty by giving the poor truckloads of money. Just one will do.

The top decile pays 50% of the taxes in this country. Giving freebies to the rich my arse.

Your refusal to answer is eloquent.

No country has ever tried to eradicate poverty. Not one. The rich won't allow it because they prefer to keep poverty in place as a threat.

Diddums. The top decile owns more than 50% of the wealth. They're undertaxed because their share of unearned wealth is growing. That means everyone else has to make do with less because total wealth is finite.

Wages reflect the supply and demand of labor.

When economic conditions are flourishing there is competition for staff and employers offer more to get employees.

What the dreaming Lefties conveniently forget a person's wages need to reflect the productivity worth of that person to the employer.

Otherwise the employer gets rid of the person or is forced to close down with an unprofitable business and leave Australia and get away from the grasping groping slavering union ogres.

If the Extremist Greeny controlled Labor Party gets in there will be industries closing down left right and center as the rapacious unions grind them into the dust and send our work overseas.

We had a decade of that in the boom and the results did not include wages keeping up.

Your rhetoric is not supported by the facts.

Maybe so but virtually every conservative government have lived by it for at least the last 40 years. For example every time Howard gave a huge increase to big business or the wealthy he espoused the benefits of trickle down.

Maybe they know that it is a lie, a convenient excuse to give it all to their mates while pretending that we will all benefit.

Yes a joke but it has been played on workers for decades. Not funny in the slightest.
