So let me ask you these few biblical questions.
1) who is the central character in the Bible
2) who authored the Bible
3) explain Grace to me
4) what is a biblical 'type'
The grace of God, is available to all men.
But it is only offered to those who qualify as His children.
The children of the spirit [of God].
grace = =
1 elegance of movement.
2 courteous good will. an attractively polite manner of behaving.
3 the free and unearned favour of God. a divinely given talent or blessing. a person’s favour.John 3:6
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
God offers to men, freedom,
from the bondage which we experience, in this flesh.
John 4:24
God is a Spirit....
There is the state of 'freedom', and there is the state of 'bondage'.
"They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God..."
Romans 9:7
Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
Romans 8:13
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
While we are in the world, we are all,
'in bondage under the elements of the world'.
Galatians 4:1
Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
what is a biblical 'type'?We are,
'strangers in a strange land.'If we seek God [God's righteousness] we are they who,
"desire a better country..."
Do we seek it ?
Yes! ....we do!
Hebrews 11:8
By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
Hebrews 11:14
...they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Galatians 4:28
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
LW,
Can freedom [
that freedom which God offers to us] be acquired by being a member of a church,
where we are still, under the bondage of other men ?
Those clerics, in churches,
they are not leading us to the kingdom of God. !!!!
"....for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you."
Those clerics
are able to point the way, but many of them, will instead say,
'tarry here a while, and find your rest'.
Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
John 3:5
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
John 4:24
God is a Spirit....
The spirit of God.
Psalms 25:9
The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
