Well it seems its big news being down all over the world. How much money are they losing per minute? Also how much information are whoever is doing it getting from this?

Depends how you use them.
My wife and I have loads of family and close friends all over the world and it's nice to be able to stay in touch.

Twitter is great for schools and sporting clubs for announcements for weather cancellations and changes.

I use FB the same way but the WORLD would be better off without it, not necessarily me or you. I can't be bothered with Twitter. Instagram (IG) is visual and I enjoy posting and looking at photos there. That being said, I have a business that uses both FB and IG and it is a quite effective marketing tool.

They're hardly gonna say "Facebook is temporarily down due to a cyber attack which involves unknown persons, from unknown countries, downloading the personal information of millions of our users".

I have a 1950's rotary phone in my office just for show (but it could work as the insides have been refurbished) and kids are amazed by it - the literally don't know how it works.
