And now all you have to do is prove it is all CO2's fault. WinkJovial Monk wrote on Aug 16th, 2022 at 2:44pm:
Above I posted the IR spectrum at top of atmosphere. We see IR at the wavelengths of the main GHGs is below what we would expect if IR could escape freely to space

That is an assumption.

That "Data" is from ACORN-SAT Grin Grin Grin Grin

And "Mean Temperatures" are now a proxy for extreme temperatures? So a warm day and a warm night equal extreme temperature? Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Berkeley Earth Systems Team used raw, unhomogenised temperature readings BTW.

And now due to extra special sauce all the way back to 1750., Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

So tell us how they did the Southern oceans when there were no and very little SST stations back then. Roll Eyes

You IR chart doesn't show that H20 and CO2 overlap. Roll Eyes

Sure:

1. 1850 it was found that water vapor, CO2 and NH3 absorbed infrared radiation. Names such as Eunice Foote and John Tyndal. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eunice_Newton_Foote and John Tyndal https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Tyndall

2. In the late 1940s the US Air Force had two problems: its bombsight for its strategic bombers didn’t work and nor did heat seeking missiles. It was found IR emitted by the surface of the earth was to blame. Brief intro here: https://history.aip.org/climate/summary.htm

3. While various terrestrial temperature series existed in 1970 satellite measurements of weather and climate started. They were in close agreement with the terrestrial series. RSS is the best known of these. An average warming rate of 0.2°C per decade was found to exist.

Above I posted the IR spectrum at top of atmosphere. We see IR at the wavelengths of the main GHGs is below what we would expect if IR could escape freely to space. We can compare the moon and its huge diurnal temperature fluctuations to earth with its atmosphere with increasing amounts of GHGs.

I will leave you with a graph of the major terrestrial temperature series:

As to rabbiting on about cold weather events “proving” an ice age (as if  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes ) I repost the BoM temperature distributions for maximum and minimum temperatures. Notice that cold events decrease in number after the 1950s while hot events increase in number and intensity—the distribution has not just moved to the hot side it is skewed to the hot side. Note the peaks of the high temperature distributions decrease slightly because of the marked skew to the hot side:

I dunno. Now there are two charts.

The internet here is not very good but once a file is uploaded that should not make any difference?

You could try reading this but doubt you will understand it:

One Ozpolitic link no longer works.
One started working again but only as a direct link.  ?????

Wow. A model married to readings and it is guaranteed true. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

So Bonobby, what do you think about the evidence for AGW I have posted?

Humboldt speculated about AGW in 1801, Fourier in 1827. Arrhenius calculated (pen and paper calculations!) in 1905 and got pretty damn close to the accepted figure. Guy Callendar, top steam engineer, also thought that increasing CO2 would increase AGW. Guy lived to see his work validated in the work for the USAF and USN that found the IR coming from the earths surface. Satellites observed the IR spectrum at TOA and AGW is pretty solidly established.

So agree or not, Bonobby?

Monk,
stop being an obnoxious fool with ASPD.
I will read what I want to read and respond when I feel like it.
I consider myself as a news reporter rather than someone
who is qualified to analyse scientific reports about the environment.
You think you know everything and that your opinion is very important.  Roll Eyes

You are a cretin. You have just admitted you have no science qualifications, not that I needed you to tell me that, the absolute rubbish you have filled this poor board with show that very clearly. You also fell for a cheap, obvious conman, didn’t you?
