Why on earth would it go to all that trouble, if it is a man/trans

it's no joke, converting from one sex/gender to another
especially at that age

first trans I remember seeing was at Pacific Fair shopping centre on the Gold Coast.  Only noticed them because of the expression of confusion on my daughter's face

two guys, one very large, the other small

the large one had grown his hair, what there was of it.  And had tried to feminise one of those old safari suits by adding a scarf and beads.  The short one was basically trying to hide behind the big one and didn't have much going on, 'feminine' wise

They were simultaneously trying to pass and be inconspicuous whilst glancing around constantly to see if they were being noticed

I'll be honest, the sight of them, the way they were behaving, was unsettling, disturbing.  It must have shocked me because I can still remember them pretty clearly.  I felt deep, deep pity for them

I headed off so my daughter would follow.  In response to her questions about the 'funny' (as in weird, peculiar) men was to say that they were dressing up.  She was only six.  No need to introduce her to the foibles of the mentally unwell

The second sighting was also on the Gold Coast, quite near to where we lived.  He was a burly ex truckie, I was reliably told, who'd decided, in his sixties, to become a woman

Got to hand it to him, he was a quick learner and tried hard.  He couldn't pass at any closer range than say, 25 metres if you were in a car doing 60.  But he had a bit of flair and style about him and was constantly improving.  He began with nuclear missile shaped fake breasts, but toned them down after a few months to something more realistic

and he began with a helmet type wig hair sprayed to death, which he swiftly swapped for a more realistic fluffy style with movement

I admired him.  He was a guy who believed that if a job was worth doing, it was worth doing well

he'd left his family behind, moved into a little flat and got himself a lap dog.  Dumped the tailored outfits which were 1950s schoolteacher style and adopted floaty hippie stuff

if you kept your eyes off his face, he was passable as a woman of a certain age

he must have been happy with his new identity, seeing he'd given up everything to live it.  And he seemed quite relaxed, wandering along the street with his little dog

I think everyone developed a soft spot for him

but, man or woman, the guy had character and obviously felt strong committment to his female self.  I wished him all the best and hope he was happy

Satanic-looking drag queen reads to children at library named after Michelle Obama

LONG BEACH, California, October 24, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) -- Transvestite Xochi Mochi dressed as a satanic clown with red-tipped demon horns and read to little children for Drag Queen Story Hour at the Michelle Obama Public Library in California.

"DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models," the Drag Queen Story Hour website stated. "Kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real."

DQSH is a growing fad promoted by LGBTQIA+ activists in collaboration with publicly-funded libraries across the nation. Mochi's performance was worked out by the Michelle Obama Public Library in Long Beach, the LGBTQ Center of Long Beach, the Genders and Sexualities Alliance Network, and the LGBTQ Imperial Court of Long Beach.

The DQSH website claims that it is catching on "regularly" in New Jersey, "L.A., New York, and San Francisco, and … all over the world!"

An enthusiastic endorsement by Judy Zuckerman of the Brooklyn Public Library acknowledges that the drag queen's influence is intended to portray transvestites as normal.  Zuckerman calls DQSH an "important program that celebrates diversity in the way children may dress and act." 

The Brooklyn library's director of youth and family services went on to say that the transvestites' visit "encourages children to look beyond gender stereotypes and embrace unfettered exploration of self."

Tax dollars were used to promote the event, which was endorsed by the City of Long Beach. "@LBCityLibrary invites you to the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library for a celebration of LGBTQ History Month! #NationalComingOutDay," the city tweeted.

Promoted as "a celebration of LGBTQ History Month," the event continued after the story time with a "community art hour" and an "LGBTQ History Timeline Workshop."
