..I see a storm coming...... not now... not here.. but soon ...... no wonder the 'government' bends over backwards to dilute the Australian gene.... what towel-head or burkha'd sheila would consider Ayers Rock as a national sacred site?

They never heard of it..... have no idea what Australia is ..... and care even less.....

Maybe if they cut down the Australian gene to a low enough percentage, nobody will be left to protest any insanity pushed on the nation... ah .... that's the game plan....

Ah - so public land is only public land as long as some group doesn't want to control it? How does that preserve your home?

Ayers Rock isn't 'public land' it is a NATIONAL icon, and can't be public land if it is claimed by some small group who never did anything with it ... so nobody has the right to exclude anyone since nobody owns it .....

Comparing climbing Ayres Rock to climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It's a publicly paid for and critical piece of infrastructure and when people climb it, the police have to close the bridge and gridlock a huge city for half a day.

Ayres Rock is just a natural land formation and is no different to any other big rock, hill or mountain. If there is a valid reason to stop people from climbing it, then those reasons should be applied to all rocks, hills or mountains.

I don't accept the notion that it's sacred, just as I don't accept any other rubbish from any other religion.

I am unsure why people who will more than likely never, ever climb Uluru are so upset by the idea that the Traditional Owners have decided to stop people climbing it.
