Well I watched the two Clive James programs last night about him and his life.

The second program really grabbed my attention.
Kerry O'Brien as usual gives his great 'unguarded' interviews and in my view, is Australia's current best Interviewer and has been for a very long time since Jana Wendt left.

Only Kerry could have pulled off interviewing Clive James as he was at the time and the changes in Clive were profound and he still could relate to his past as well. Kerry even slid in the most cunning of questions worded (re: Clive's translation of Dante - the Creator of the Italian language), that even Clive acknowledged it impressed.

Clive overall, had aged via ill health on his body - his mind had not, in fact it was still 'growing'. Amazing!
One of the most intellectually interesting Interviews with a man who could quite simply be considered as Australia's first truly 'cultural' Holy Man. Not because he was 'pure' of all things abstained from. But because he really did almost know it all.

Imagine if this Poet, became a Prime Minister, rather than TV Show Presenter.
I'm sure he would have put the world political stage on the edge of their seats.

Clive even showed the world its first 'Reality TV' that soon swept the Media globe, when he brought the Japanese game show of various 'tortures' to light as 'humorous'.
