PISA, Only 9% of 15-year-olds can tell the difference between fact and opinionThat is a shocking indictment upon education systems, in Western societies, in the 21st century.
And it is occurring because [for decades now] we have been teaching our children, that it is more important to learn how to convey [pleasing] LIES to others in our society, than to convey real knowledge [aka TRUTH].
i.e.
We have been teaching our children, how to convey a [social] 'opinion', as a fact. And many of our children today, can't tell the difference !

There are many criticisms of PISA. From the fact the OECD allows some countries to test just regions – like B-S-J-Z (China) – to criticisms of the argument an increase in a country’s PISA scores will result in an increase in that country’s economic wealth.
Despite these criticisms, PISA is robust, and provides an idea of how countries are performing comparative to each other. It provides a birds-eye view of a country’s average student performance, or a state’s average student performance.
This allows us to look deeply and identify groups that might not be performing as well as we hope, or skill areas students aren’t grasping well.

In the US, 13.5% of 15-year-olds can distinguish between fact and opinion when trying to interpret a complex reading task. In the UK, it’s just 11.5%.
Those results are both better than the OECD average of 9%, according to the latest results of PISA, or the Programme for International Student Assessment, an international test of math, science, and reading which is administered by the OECD every three years.
“The world continues to change but education systems have a hard time keeping up,” said Andreas Schleicher, head of the OECD’s education unit.
Like in previous years, the top performers hailed from Asia. China 1 and Singapore scored significantly higher in reading than all the other places that participated in the latest test.

. PSYCHOLOGY .
Definition;
A popular term for the constellation of
changes affecting a person who had previously been in a position of power and authority and either retired from the post or was pushed out, resulting in a loss of relevance and importance of his or her opinions and connections with power brokers and decision makers.
https://www.newmedicalterms.com/classic-medicine-2/psychiatry-psychology/relevance-deprivation-syndrome/Australia, Australians are suddenly becoming irrelevant,
....along with the peoples of every Western nation, imo.
relevant = = closely connected or appropriate to the matter in hand.THE TRUTH....The peoples of every Western nation are in danger of suffering from a lack of 'relevance',
within an increasing dangerous world.
Knowledge is POWER.And it appears, that we have put insane [and illogical] people, in charge of educating our children.
'The lunatics, are in charge of the asylum.'In a past age the peoples of Western [European] nations embraced what we now know as the
Renaissance.
Renaissance = = the revival of art and literature under the influence of classical models in the 14th–16th centuries. Those peoples of those nations chose to experience, and
to embrace a love of [pure] knowledge, and of learning and reasoned thinking,
and of CRITICAL THINKING.
And they chose, to attribute prestige and merit to such knowledge [aka TRUTH].
And in the following decades and centuries, those European nations subsequently became the competing world powers, in their day.
Whereas today, the descendants of those same peoples, have chosen to abandon reasoned thinking, and to abandon CRITICAL THINKING, and, a love of reason and truth.
Today the peoples of Western nations believe that human PLEASURE, and SELF-INTEREST, and [tolerance of] LIES, should be the primary currency of all human interaction.
Today, [in our society] truth and integrity are unimportant and have little value, as cultural mores.
[And our politicians are our example!]
Today, we must learn how to convey LIES, in all of our interpersonal interactions, because we have learnt [and it cannot be denied] that such LYING, so often prove to best serve our own interests.
Multiculturalism.
We have chosen to 'adopted' many of the mores and values, of those peoples whom we have recently 'mingled' with.
Cultural enrichment, innit !
