Again and again, God's WORD teaches that we ought to be separate, from what and from who, we know, is wicked.
God's WORD teaches, that if we flee iniquity [and seek God], God's spirit will be indwelling, in our heart.
We are/can be, His 'house'.
God's spirit will not dwell with, or give his protecting spirit, to those who abide with evil.
Isaiah 66:1
