For me, my vote came down to the censorship argument and how each of them dealt with it. I guess from my views on censorship my vote has been exposed.
IITL is fringe but it's not just about that. How can someone that is fringe complain that the fringe shyte is censored, be a censor? Surely they would want more open discussion.
He would only have stopped posts of a depraved sexual nature.
Only depraved people see depraved sexual acts in comedy. Comedy is mean to challenge one, not to be taken literally. Someone that appears to believe the information he is in possession of is being censored by "x" is not one that should promote censorship. We have govt bodies for that purpose and all their posturing won't change that. It could well show what kind of mod they would be.
I agree that comedy should be viewed as such but didn't they both want to ban such posts/images?
The problem here is that too many of the MRBs are too strictly 'moderated' based on their own personal bias and spite towards other posters. I don't like you so you are banned wah wah wah.
I personally thought Light deserved the post of Mod because he contributes so much to Fringe topics. If he chooses to not do that anymore Fringe, and the forum as a whole, will obviously suffer. *shrug
Looks to me like it became a battle of wills with someone working behind the scenes.
I was since this came up going as an issue, Fringe mod, going to vote for light but when the censorship/cartoon stuff happened, I couldn't in good conscience vote for it. I'm not a fan of censorship and I didn't like IITL's excuse or his bullying the other candidate to come around to his way of thinking or be branded.
Much like I think Monk may have more climate knowledge and a far better argument than Bobby, his other, let's call them attributes let him down. Much the same in this case.
I hope IITL keeps posting and Kangy can let him without too much friction. It's title is "Fringe" after all.
