and from the same link, when discussing another incident of the pope refusing to touch worshipers, this was the excuse he gave

Quote:
The Holy Father told me that the motivation was very simple: hygiene," Vatican spokesman Alessandro Gisotti told reporters at the time.

I don't know I'd go along with the headline, did she throw softdrink at him? Perhaps he was protecting himself or his property. The popemobile is a very expensive piece of kit.

she was a bit excited and pulled him towards her. I can understand him pulling away in that situation, but for him to lash out ?... surely she's not the first overzealous fan he's met?

He shook her hand off - hardly an assault - technically she assaulted him... jeez, Guido - you even hate your own roots...

She actually assaulted him, quite clearly he found it painful and slapped her hand away when she did not desist, grabbing and holding someone is assault. Get a grip losers.

Grabbing the robe of a holy man is technically an assault... freeing oneself (as I am forced, as a holy man, to do often) is not an assault... it is Ptath's Will...

lets put this in context, if you did that to me I would knock you out and stand in no danger of criminal charges. This was the Pope, she is lucky she wasnt shot dead by his bodyguards.

six of one, half dozen of the other

women of that ethnicity are willful, quite often

Pope reacted overmuch

He's apologised

but he can't have it both ways.  The kid from whom the pope removed the dummy while patting it, etc., might have thought, were it able, that the pope infringed it's rights to be unmolested by a stranger.  But that's a baby, right, and the pope was being 'warm and cute'

moments later, some other random in the crowd, clearly a believer and anxious to touch the holy flesh, grabbed the pope without his permission and copped a slap

anyway, pope's apologised

He might have lost a loyal worshipper in that Asian woman, who knows

the faithful used to touch and hold Jesus' robes in the belief that simple act would cure them of whatever ailed them.  Don't remember hearing in Bible classes that Jesus slapped them down

If he had been a muzzo imrans, he would simply have shot her.

Look carefully at the video, idiots.
He was nearly pulled off balance.
He is not a young man, a fall could be fatal to him.
The woman was obviously not thinking to grab an old man like that.

But the anti-christians are continually looking for any excuse to belittle the church.
Any way possible.

Tell me apologists.
How many mullahs, imrans, are brave enough to visit people?
How many mullahs, imrans would dare to present themselves to the people they torment.
How many tortured, beaten and oppressed people would want to touch a filthy mullah or imrans.

Christians are not perfect.
We are humans who make mistakes and act out when we feel threatened.

Unlike the CULT of DEATH who consider themselves above any human constraint.
Who murder, torture and punish with great glee.

Want an example?
How about the young child, who was raped by muzzo men.
But who was tortured for speaking out.

Yep, great CULT, this CULT of DEATH.
Almost as bad as the pope slapping away the hand of an overzealous worshipper.

its not for me I wouldnt stand for hours or line up like that,  but lets face it  its his job to appreciate everyone...warts and all!

A devotee lost their head being over awed in the Popes presence...he should of just head butted her making it look like an accident.

Concerning is the hatred displayed by people here towards Muslims...that's not very Christian like....where is this God who doesn't bother to smite people.

Fraser Anning - deck her!!

Jesus - these are the same fanatics who saw a figure of the Holy Virgin in a collection of shadows at Tamarama Beach or Coogee.... until someone moved the fences.... no more Blessed Virgin...
