State of emergency

This is what I'd do if I had absolute power.

Cut all foreign aid (except to PNG), effective immediately.
Scale back the salaries of all serving politicians and the pensions and perks of all retired politicians to $80K for a year.

Spend it all on rebuilding infrastructure damaged by the fires, and looking forward, investing in fire fighting capacity.

Bloody socialist - I suppose next you'll want doctors on salaries........ and a properly run hospital system without all the lurks and perks..   Wink

Oh - I'm looking at a fund raiser to either buy some Canadair waterbombers or refit some available aircraft here now... any thoughts from the good people here?

A bit overboard I think. I'd just like our "leaders" to rely less on prayer and more on financing hands at work. I'm betting Scomo is wondering why his prayers aren't answered, I wonder if cods' prayers have be answered?

she says she got 5 drops of rain the other night because of her prayer Cheesy Cheesy

Perfectly in order if the claims were in fact false, cods... most turn out not to be.

How much shall we put you down for, in the fundraising for waterbomber fleet?  Based at Temora, I think... but I'm open to ideas.  Probably a few pilots I used to know would do it for free... for the fun and the flight time.. they head to Temora for free flights - I envy that guy who gets to fly the Spitfire... Col Pay owns it... and I could get a Hawker Hurricane rebuild (not a replica) in Britain for $1.5m... mama mia...

Maybe you could be the ACT captain of fundraising...  let me work on it...

Using the term *vegetation management* broadly to describe the various state bureaucracies which control our forests, parks, farms, waterways etc., way of life:

These *vegetation management* bureaucracies have failed.

They have murdered human beings, they have tortured and slaughtered our wildlife, they have burnt hundreds of homes, they have destroyed millions of hectares of our native flora, all with their callous disregard for common sense.

They were intent on installing an idiotic authoritarian green left policy over the wants and needs of the people.

Why aren't they prosecuted for their crimes?

Why aren't they immediately sacked?

Make no mistake about it, this all could have been avoided, if the fanatical green left policies had never been effected.

ScoMo declares the rains as an act of God and the prayers of many answered.
