we do have a thing about high achievers all the same...

I am not saying its right....but it shouldnt be treated like its a crime either......

the yanks fete their high achievers Bill Gates is worshipped.....he spreads his wealth around but I havent seen him refuse it as yet.

Nothing has been learnt from the Global Financial Crisis ..... within 12 months things were back to normal in what companies & their executives earn....

and so far I haven't seen one that actually deserves what they are paid.

Dominos skimp on toppings even when you pay for extra & pay staff, especially delivery workers shyte money.

No way does Don Meij earn $35 million a year.

The CEO of BHP total package for FY ending 2019 was only AU$5 million. His base salary is AU$2.5 million.

It's not a crime Cods but in some cases like Don Meij it should be.

It's got SFA to do with Tall Poppy Syndrome .... more like excess & greed.

That's why he's the highest paid CEO......been ripping off his workers for years.

I don't contribute to his wage. They are not pizzas he sells. Wouldn't eat that crap even if he paid me to eat it.

How much TAX did he pay on his personal income?

We just have to accept the inequality as the price we pay for the prosperity

We are an incredibly prosperous society

Every society that ever existed has had massive inequality

But the capitalist market driven system also has massive prosperity

You're simply not understanding this white night

Capitalism and markets and allowing this sort of inequality to develop
Is crucial to all the advance that is made
Which makes your life so much more prosperous

You have a car with air conditioning and satellite navigation
Even people on the dole who have contributed virtually nothing
May have such a vehicle

That's a goddamn miracle
If we didn't allow the market to sort out who are the competent car manufacturers
And then reward the ceo's of the competent car manufacturers with high salaries
This miracle could never occur

They tried this in Soviet Russia in China
East Germany

In East Germany you had a choice of one car
That blue smoke and broke down
In East Berlin you had a choice of one type of coffee
And the central authority eventually bought coffee that was so cheap
That the people revolted
They tore down the Berlin wall just to get a good cappuccino

Here in the West we probably reward the owners of moccona
Starbucks and Gloria Jean's
with multi-million dollar bonuses

But at least no one is tearing down walls in frustration at the
Scarcity of a good barista

Yeah well Starbucks & good coffee have nothing in common ....

so the barristas there would have to be good at making the shyte look good ... until you taste it.

Same goes for dominos

We don't have a better method for creating prosperity
Then to let the general public vote with their cash
On who is the most competent provider of a service

At the height of the Communist system in Russia
Massive numbers of bureaucrats had to sit around and decide on the price of up to 10000 individual items each day

What is a nail worth

Serious question

It's worth a lot if your roof is about to blow off

How could the central Soviet decide on such pricing mechanisms
They couldn't it's impossible

So we throw it open to the free market
And the market decides
How very democratic of us

And if you are very competent
At providing what the market wants
Then you get rewarded
In proportion to your competence

And so more and more competent people
Become richer and richer

How could you possibly structure a better system
It's impossible

If you are a plumber and word gets around that you are a good plumber than you get to do more plumbing
And you get to expand your business and teach apprentice plumbers
and so the standard of plumbing in the society gets better and better and better
And if you are a bad plumber
No one parts with their cash to pay you
And you don't get to construct pipes that leak

The payoff for the best functioning society
Is that some people are going to accumulate a lot more cash
But isn't it better
That these are the competent people

That's why the whole system works

In an altruistic way of contributing first
You contribute to your fellow man
You put his needs first
He judge's your competence
And then the whole thing spirals upwards

It's a bloody miracle
Interfere with it at your peril
