Not trying to frighten you, Lols but a mask won't stop you catching coronavirus or even the common flu because the virus can also enter through the eyes.

You'll also need some sort of airtight goggles to go with the mask.

Masks alone are only helpful in preventing people who have the virus from passing it on to others.

Yes so everyone keeps saying.
Maybe 3 masks at sane time then?
And my sons Motocross goggles.
My birthday soon so I want airtight goggles in purple pretty please Cool

I have that hand sanitizer too, or should I just wear gloves?
A burka with goggles , is starting to look feasible  now!

One dead on the gold coast apparently.
Beautichan. Travelled back from Iran. She treated 40 patients before she died.

I looked it up, she is in Gold Coast uni hospital in a stable condition but 40 people that came in contact with her are being tracked down
And I am going up there on the Gold Coast on Tuesday to visit daughter.
Not feeling very confident in amongst crowds of airports, but must keep positive.
At least whomever gets the virus will be well looked after in our own country. Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye .....

I also wont be doing anything different, there is a lot of media hyoe to this and I keep reading how people are panic buying
(toilet paper? What the?) at the supermarket and how restaurants are 80 percent empty. Well we went to a food hall last night and it was busier than Ive seen it and went shopping today and there was no panic buying, in fact I noticed a lot of reduced items and specials on sale. What Im reading and what Im actually seeing are 2 different things. The way I figure it is this, nearly all the people who have died so far are elderly with pre existing health conditions and most are Chinese. Its the pneumonia associated with the illness that is knocking them off and the Chinese are known along with Indians for having the weakest genetics on the planet due to inbreeding. Im a mongrel genetically and I havent had as much as a cold in 20 years and I dont fit into any of the other categories. I think I will be in the 84 percent who if I contract it will only experience mild symptoms. im certainly not changing my lifestyle.

Besides her 40 clients I'm wondering how many others who were on the same plane as her when she came into Australia have also caught it? And, where are they now? Didn't see that mentioned in the linked news article?

This thing could now be all over Australia in a matter of weeks or less. I think we're screwed but I did see it coming... was just a matter of time.

The graphs are a bit hopeful , the trend is going in the right direction and not curving up.

media hype hey ? The markets are saying different to you. For months the media was saying very little until the markets crashed and now the papers are all over it !

This is starting to sound like a story from biblical times, Virgin Mary and the immaculate conception.
Must be something in the water? Like in previous topic of bathing areas etc ?
Nope, maybe it’s like that song “....and there’s something in the air”
Or ...”whichever way the wind blows”

Think about that, remember all the smoke from our recent bushfires?
Recall how the smoke was going around the globe and back again only to give us those Smokey hazy days each time the smoke went round and round the globe?

Well maybe there’s something about an aerosol virus that can do that too, otherwise, how else can someone catch this virus with no apparent contact with anyone with the virus????

When you have an emergency situation like this it really highlights why you should never have an incompetent administration leading a major health crisis.

Mistake 1) The administration decided to bring back infected people from the cruise ship, which is good but they chose to bring them back on a plane with healthy people. The CDC said don't do that but they did anyway. Saved a few bucks.

Mistake 2) The staff members were under trained and under equipped.

Mistake 3) The Staff moved about freely on and off the quarantined air force base some stayed off base and one made a flight to another state.

Mistake 4) Safety protocol training was provided 5 days into the process.

The first community transmission occurred near Travis air force base, she is being treated in a hospital 15 minutes from the base. OH ?

Conclusion: Yep - another example of Trump government incompetence.

Breaking news, our first Australian death from this virus.

A man in his 70s from Diamond Princess has succumbed to the virus and died in WA.
