Latest internet rumor - the US Government
namely the CDC is buying up all N95 face masks
and preventing the manufactuers from selling
them to retail outlets.

Only Govt workers such as hospital workers
and cops will get them - along with politicians.

We're expendable.
I wonder what is happening in Australia?

Just checked the local Chemist Warehouse -
they haven't been able to buy any N95 masks for over 3 weeks.

checkout ebay. That's where they will be as the scalpers go around and buy them up and double or triple the price !!

I know - they are selling for ridiculous prices.
We're doomed.

When mum was in hospital over xmas we had to wear masks to visit her. they were the n95 ones and they let us stock up.

First coronavirus death in Australia

Australia reported its first novel coronavirus death today -- a 78-year-old man repatriated from the cruise ship Diamond Princess.

Western Australia state’s Chief Health Officer Andrew Robertson told reporters at a press briefing that the man's wife was also infected, and remained in a stable condition.

The Department of Health confirmed to CNN that there were two new coronavirus cases in Australia on Sunday, taking the national tally to 27.

As many as 40 people may have been exposed to coronavirus after an infected woman worked at a Gold Coast shopping centre.

The first coronavirus case in Australia with no links to China has been confirmed, with as many as 40 people now at risk of exposure to the virus after the infected woman worked at a Gold Coast shopping centre.

The 63-year-old woman is currently in isolation at the Gold Coast University Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19. She is in a stable condition.

Chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young said the woman had recently returned from Iran, where there are more than 388 confirmed cases and coronavirus is rapidly spreading.

Speaking to reporters at lunchtime Dr Young said the woman, who worked as a beautician on the Gold Coast, had arrived in Australia from Iran “perfectly well” on Monday.

She had shown no signs of illness on the flight or first days back in the country until Thursday when she began showing “minimal symptoms” of coronavirus.

The beautician began to feel unwell at work that and spoke to her manager before leaving to seek medical help.

It wasn't created. It's a naturally occurring type of virus, strains of which are responsible for what we pass off as colds and flus every year.

The woman, 63, had returned from Iran on Monday and gave up to 40 customers facial treatments at the salon before she fell ill on Thursday.

Anyone who went to Hair Plus salon, in the Australia Fair shopping centre at Southport, Queensland last week is advised to get tested.

The woman is now in a stable condition and in isolation in the Gold Coast University Hospital.
