what about landlords? That'll be interesting because in most cases the landlords regular income might well be suffering.

If people are unable to work, they can still go on the dole and get rent assistance, one would think.
I told my daughter in law, since she may not have work due to qantas cutting 90% flights, to go on unemployment benefits at least.

There may be a void of nothingness, for a bit, until the dole kicks in.

I wonder about rent payments, and we have 2 houses, one is okay she will keep paying as she is in some government disability pension.
The other one is a worry if both hubby and wife have no work.

Then my hubby works 2 days a week and his place of employment is to do with food deliveries to workers.
20% Factories and work places have asked no food delivery for fear of contracting the virus.

So if things go awry, we will be down to the wire.

Lucky, we old fashioned and kept money aside for a rainy day.
We can help our son and his wife if needed, so they don’t lose house.

Like I said, we will just cross each bridge when we come to it.

I listened to a Canadian interview with ex-Prime Minister of Italy.

At the very end of interview, he said not to expect this virus to go in days, or weeks, more like 3-4 months, and up to 6 months.

My son’s wife just found out qantas has cut 90% flights until August!!
She is worried now because, Virgin have told crew to take 3 months off without pay!

Shyte is getting real.

This virus could mean the end of the lefty globalist progressives plan for world domination. Hopefully we will see an end to darkie immigration. You may not have to move from Geelong after all Bobby

The most virulent forms die off when they kill their hosts.  The less virulent forms have resistance built up against them in the population.  It is how we all survived  the Spanish Flu, Bobby.   Roll Eyes

Not wanting to alarm anyone but.... the Spanish flu happened over a 2 year period.
But only because, it was during the war, and sailors spread it slowly every port they went to. And each country didn’t want anyone to know for fear of takeover advantage with illness in play.
Only Spain spoke up about it.
It was then that some action needed to be done to stop the spread.
It was a nasty flu and people would die within 2 days!
Some things they did then are very “deja wu (han)”

Staying indoors, wearing masks, spraying disinfectant  etc.
The virus did end after 2 years, but I think a herd immunity developed by then, albeit a lot of people died first.

It happened much quicker to spread a virus at today’s fast paced travel, hence needing quicker action.

Now I know some don’t like Chris Martensen of Peak Prosperity but he had said today, that Australia and Canada can still get it under control quickly, we have that time, USA too, but less time.

He has been 100% accurate with all his predictions of where this virus was going.

I took heed of his advice 2 months ago and shopped early before all this madness.

Last week, I was quoting in a post we had 78 infected in Oz, now it’s doubled every 3 days to over 350. Maybe more by now when this goes to print.

Doubling every 3 days.

Chris’s advice “stay the ufck home”

Lols, you and I seem in lockstep on this.

Stocking up is being called panic buying.
Sure, some people are, but by most people getting in early and doing their shopping BEFORE the virus is more prevalent in the community is enabling social distancing. The ONLY way to flatten the curve is social distancing.

we are about to see 2 modes acted out in a giant experiment.

america has closed down, even resturants, bars, schools , borders.

the UK has told the over 70's to go into voluntary quarantine for 4 months and everyone else to get on with life.

i think the UK model is better.

you will build up herd immunity and you wont trash the economy and you will get it over and done with.

the american model would seem death by 1000 cuts. slow and drawn out and just as dangerous.

i hope we go the british model.

it will be interesting to see who comes out better in terms of deaths and economic loss.
i'm betting on the brits.

This model will see a huge number of people become infectedx very quickly whilst on the face of it this may be better, please do not forget you will have a deaths and patients requiring ICU support all dumped on the health care system in no time at all.

Ideally, get all the vulnerable to isolate then and in controlled shifts, deliberately infect and isolate people in the lowest risk categories and work your way thru.

I imagine you'd need lots of soldiers with lots of guns to pull that off.
