https://au.news.yahoo.com/coronavirus-nearly-50-cruise-passengers-test-positive-...

"The number of people in the community who have tested positive for COVID-19 after disembarking a cruise ship in Sydney last week has risen to at least 48.

The Ruby Princess ship was carrying 1,100 crew and close to 2,700 passengers. Passengers were allowed to disembark Thursday in the centre of Sydney despite concerns that many were showing flu-like symptoms and test results for COVID-19 were still pending.

According to NSW Health, the number of passengers who have now tested positive as of Monday morning has risen to 48."

Read more... and to think - government closed or sold off the old quarantine stations... oh, well... I suppose all those people will self-isolate for the community good.......

I'm still struggling to understand what WTF the govt. of NSW was thinking with that one? They let them off knowing some were infected. It's madness.

They should have been moved from the ship into a hotel (plenty of empty ones about) and put into enforced isolation for two week, with testing on a weekly basis.

The last time the MyGov site crashed it wasn't nearly as much an issue as now .......

and any wonder there's overload .... imagine all the new ones lining up for JobStart/Search now ...

now that the amount has doubled.

More money to search for jobs that aren't there ...

and with so many being stood down from business & industry that is winding down or shutting down.

They are the people that need the money before you double the amount for those who weren't working.  Roll Eyes

They arent lining up because the amount has doubled - they are lining up because they lost their jobs. geez.

It seems Scomo (flunkies) have been reading my posts about "the bills don't stop because you stop work" after Abbott's debacle of wanting to pay people on $150k or more (after deductions) PPL for six months and saying "the bills don't stop"..... now mass work stops are becoming the norm....

One rule for all - or no rule at all!   Cool

That’s the part that is puzzling! Money for nothing to many that were producing nothing anyway.
It should go to those recently losing their jobs only, due to shutdown of their industry because of the C virus.

Either Fed through customs etc or the state should have taken steps.  Now the bug is loose in the land... thanks Scomo and Gladys Heckleandjeklian (never held a real job and good at making mistakes)....

As usual, and in keeping with my representations to Guvco during the fire crisis, the whole approach is piecemeal and frankly out of control and made up of kneejerk reactions.  No over-arching organisation to deal with disasters of any kind... no plan in place... no funding direct or flexible enough to be diverted  ... and I have zero faith in a former AFP Commissioner on another good belt to his fancy super and lifestyle actually having any concept of genuine organisation.

Haven't seen much on the fire disaster front yet... still working on a huge submission.

I think they need me in charge of this.... I'm really only ever good in a leadership role... sadly not a great follower.

I have an agent who made an appointment tomorrow to bring two buyers thru my place.  Both were originally  looking at places more expensive but have reduced their price and are now at the exact level Id sell at.

I'm tempted to sell and wait for some very massive falls then buy back in.
