The outbreak was initially linked to a market in Wuhan where exotic animals are known to be sold as food.

Animals sold as food?

My god!

Next thing you know, people will be eating cows.

No muppet. It's linked to eating "exotic " animals.

Are you telling me Australians don't eat exotic animals, Jocko?

Are you sure you want to go down this path?

What animals do Australians eat routinely that you would consider exotic Pecca?

Why did you introduce the word "routinely"?

I'm curious.

Because exotic animals are eaten routinely in China. look it up.

Is backpedalling an Olympic sport?

If so, you'd qualify for Tokyo.

In China shoppers  can buy loads of different animals to eat. frogs, snakes, bats, dogs, cats, monkey's , bugs, all sorts of furry critters etc etc. Australia doesn't do that. The article I supplied from 9news claims that Chinese authorities believe that is how the virus was spread. And in particular they are looking at the consumption of bats. Take your argument up with the Chinese Pecca?

Well, I'm not going to argue with Channel 9 "News", Jocko.

When you bring out big guns like that, I have to admit defeat.

Just promise me you won't quote ACA next - I couldn't handle the humiliation.

I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but there's also a new strain of flu in asia which is a pretty nasty one too. I wonder if you could get co-infected with both?

Bats can pass on several viruses to humans Pecca. I don't know why you find it so unbelievable?

Well, a bit of "good news" about this coronavirus is that its apparently a 'heavy' virus that cannot remain airborne for long.

https://www.theregister.co.uk/2020/01/28/defcon_china_cancelled/

Quote:
Finally, the genome sequences for the virus, 2019-nCoV, have been documented. This 125nm bio-nasty is too heavy to stay in the air for long, and seems to be mostly spread by coughs and sneezes.

So, I would probably be staying away from anyone with a prolonged cough or sneeze (or hold your breath until you can move away from them).

Probably a good idea to keep away from the Chinese at this time.

Ask Jim Morrison in your prayers:

Wuhan... I'm only in Wuhan........ sh1t....... every day I sit here I grow weaker with virus... every day it sits out there growing stronger.... when I was home all I could think about was the virus... the only thing I said to my wife was I wanted a divorce... now I'm here.... and I wanted a mission...... and for my sins they gave me a virus............. Corona really had the hook into me.... about a thousand medals..... airborne vector .... Special Faeces... airborne?... sh1t.. SARS was thirty six years old..... I trained at eighteen and it nearly wasted me.....

............ Corona Virus is a .. good bug... a fine office holiday maker.... good father to a host of viruses..........  but out there... things can become... confused.......... it's operating out there without any civilised constraint......

We want you to... go up to the head of the Wuhan outbreak....... and  **coughs** terminate the Corona command.....

Terminate..... the Corona?

With extreme prejudice....
