Does Australia have a mask manufacturing industry?

The masks will be made in China - don't buy any because they might be contaminated

The people who are sick should be wearing the masks, not the healthy ones.

Wearing a mask won't stop an uninfected person catching coronavirus.

You can't eat bat soup with a mask on.

Whereabouts of travellers at risk of coronavirus not being shared by Commonwealth, Queensland Premier says

Updated about 6 hours ago

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-01-30/coronavirus-second-case-confirmed-in-quee...

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has accused the Federal Government of withholding information about the whereabouts of people who may have been affected by coronavirus.

Ms Palaszczuk told ABC Radio Brisbane only the Federal Government had contact information for people who travelled to the province at the centre of the outbreak.

"We need people who have travelled in Hubei Province to remain in their homes and in their hotels for a period of time," she said.
What are the signs and symptoms of coronavirus and how is it spread?

As the number of confirmed cases of deadly coronavirus in Australia continues to grow, experts are beginning to get a greater understanding of the disease and its impact.

"We do not have the information to talk to those people.

"Only the Federal Government has incoming boarding cards and knows who is coming into Australia.

"On those cards is the information about where they are staying and their mobile phone numbers."

Ms Palaszczuk said her request for this information was declined when she asked during a "hook-up" call yesterday.

The Federal Government denied Ms Palaszczuk's allegations that they were withholding passenger contact details.

Corona has an incubation of up to 14 days. In other words no one knows who has got it.

All Chinese made products are suspect. Wear gloves if you're going to touch them in the shops, you never know what will be contaminated

The Trump administration announced a ban on foreign national travel for those who have been in China within the last 14 days,
Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced Friday.

The United States, Azar said, is "temporarily suspending the entry into the United States of foreign nationals who pose a risk of transmitting the 2019 novel coronavirus."

Azar noted that any US citizen who has been in the Hubei Province in the last 14 days will be subject to up to 14 days of mandatory quarantine upon return to the United States. US citizens returning from the rest of mainland China who have been there in the last 14 days will undergo screening at US ports of entry and up to 14 days of self-monitoring.

The ban will be in effect beginning at 5 p.m. ET Sunday.

The basis for the temporary ban, Dr. Ant

I hope he makes it back safe and sound.

I was almost on the Tiger flight from Melbourne to the Gold Coast when trying to get home this week that had the infected people on it.

I managed to get an earlier Jetstar flight but it's likely we were at the Melbourne airport at the same time.

I'm sure it's fine, but I've been working from home and will be for the next week or so, just in case.

Not much more I can do.

No, it's about common sense precautions against a deadly virus from China that's going global, or viral

If we need to stop the flights, stop the flights.  It's not about that.

Read back through al looks at all the racial slurs.

That's what I'm talking about.  It's unnecessary.

Cannot blame the Chinese people for the virus, it is a wake up call for everyone to the over development and disregard for the natural world and environment.

Keeping animals locked in cages to make a buck with no regulation is a lesson in where contagions are spawned, and that happens globally in meat eating societies not just China.

A exception would be India which is mostly vegetarian and they revere animals albeit gastro problems occur from lack of sanitation.

Australia is not immune to animal cruelty and yet Animal activist are frowned upon if they protest outside a piggery...all goes to show the food industry has to be regulated as it is a global world where a virus or pathogen can be spawned in one country and rapidly spread to deemed safe countries.
