That's grotty but low danger as the meat is vac sealed in plastic. Yes people cough and sneeze without covering but nothing compares with China where spitting and open mouth coughing is the still the norm.

I was in a tour group, and we now have our own friendly fb page about our experience in China, we went a lot of places in amongst Chinese walking freely among them in our leisure free time, never did we notice spitting, or open mouth coughing.
Lots of shopping too, never noticed any unhygienic situations with shop assistants or Chinese shoppers.
Not one of us out of 60 persons, fell ill or had any tummy problems.
The Beijing Zoo is packed, I can tell you, we went to see the Pandas, it was all so good, clean, well behaved, not dirty habits were noted.
Went to a chinese historical museum, so totally packed with young Chinese interested in their history, not once did I feel troubled by the crowds and I didn’t notice anything dirty or unhygienic.

Saw streets where some wild life was sold, apart from me going eek to a bucket of eels, and jumpy bugs, I saw the conditions were clean as they cooked for their customers.
These Chinese people care about each other because their government does not!!
Okay drop the word racists.
It’s discrimination instead.
And it’s called Coronavirus, not China virus.

A model that predicts the number of coronavirus infections that will occur if the outbreak isn’t contained shows that based on current projections, there will be over 183 million infections before the end of February.

The chart, produced by data firm Bianco Research, shows that if the current rate of infections remains consistent, 183,943,221 people will have been infected by the virus within the next three weeks.

Given that the virus has already infected a minimum of 7,711 people and killed 170 (a fatality percentage of just over 2per cent), if 183 million people were infected, statistically upwards of 3.6 million would die.

The theory is that China obtained the coronavirus via a Canadian research program, and started molding it into a bioweapon at the Institute of Virology in Wuhan. Politifact pointed the finger at Zero Hedge, in particular, though the story was widely shared across independent-leaning media.

The theory is that the virus, which was developed by infectious disease experts to function as a bio-weapon, originated in the Wuhan-based lab of Dr. Peng Zhou, China's preeminent researcher of bat immune systems, specifically in how their immune systems adapt to the presence of viruses like coronavirus and other destructive viruses. Somehow, the virus escaped from the lab, and the Hunan fish market where the virus supposedly originated is merely a ruse.

Now, a respected epidemiologist who recently caught flack for claiming in a twitter threat that the virus appeared to be much more contagious than initially believed is pointing out irregularities in the virus's genome that suggests it might have been genetically engineered for the purposes of a weapon, and not just any weapon but the deadliest one of all.

In "Uncanny similarity of unique inserts in the 2019-nCoV spike protein to HIV-1 gp120 and Gag", Indian researchers are baffled by segments of the virus's RNA that have no relation to other coronaviruses like SARS, and instead appear to be closer to HIV. The virus even responds to treatment by HIV medications.

If you failed to notice any spitting in China, I call into question your observation skills as it's simply part of Chinese culture.

As Chinese wealth and social education standards increases it become less common, but even wealthy areas have workers from the country side who have no notion there's is anything wrong with the habit.

I could sit and give 100 links..here's just one.

Certainly, in the case of China, it has something to do with Traditional Chinese Medicine. According to TCM, phlegm is considered a toxin that needs to be removed. So, spitting the phlegm out is a healthy thing to do, just like sweating, especially when you are sick. “In China, many people view spitting as a cleansing action for the body,” Professor Coomper addressed.
